Re: Stansted June 2023
Its all very quiet at the moment at STN from a military perspective. I was hoping the PM when he flew out tonight to the States would travel using ZZ336 Voyager MRTT, but instead it was the Titan 321neo again which they now seem to prefer long haul. Not hearing any rumours of anything military in the pipeline either.

Re: Stansted June 2023
thanks, hopefully it's destination will be clear well before 20.00, I can make Stansted in 20 minutes but Mildenhall is about an hour - fingers crossed for the former!

It’s showing on FR24 as destination Stansted.
Re: Stansted June 2023
At last something interesting to follow. I don't think the C130 is staying, its just a night stop.

The USN C130 164993 is just airborne from Keflavik so if it is coming to Stansted it will be considerably earlier than 20:00

Re: Stansted June 2023
Stansted google group is reporting two UAE AF C17s due today. first arr. 11.45, dep 15.00. second arr. 19.50 and night stop departing 09.00 tomorrow
I'm assuming the times are local, the correspondent usually posts them as local times but DSTM please.
Registrations quoted as first 1227 and second 1229 but not confirmed as yet
Stansted are still using runway 04 BTW for anyone planning a trip
HTH

Re: Stansted June 2023
As it has gone a quiet'ish again, how about a bit of speculation on my behalf? If my reading of the US Media media is correct, early-mid July STN Northside could be busy as AF1 may be making visit to the UK at some point. Back in April the BBC said the President had accepted an invite from the King for a full state visit, and it would likely be late June. However, the normally reliable New York Times and Washington Post both last week suggested it will now be in July. The monarch traditionally travels to Balmoral in mid-July, and Parliament goes into recess at about the same time, so any visit would more likely be early in the month as a State visit often includes a Parliamentary address.
Lets wait and see what happens.

Dropping off helis for Ascot Races which are very soon. So the usual VIP transport for UAE VIPs/Horse owners has been mentioned on the other similar thread.Pesmog wrote: ↑Sun Jun 11, 2023 6:35 pmAs it has gone a quiet'ish again, how about a bit of speculation on my behalf? is there any evidence for this? it was believed to be a fuel stop and it wasn't parked on a normal cargo offload stand.NorvilleRogers wrote: ↑Sun Jun 11, 2023 6:55 pmDropping off helis for Ascot Races which are very soon. Re: Stansted June 2023
It parked on 505 which is close to the airside road behind it so wouldn't have parked there if it was unloading because of blocking the road, They normally park on 509 (east of the Harrods hangar)for unloading,
There was a speculative question on the stansted google group as to whether there were helicopters on board which was quickly given a negative reply and pointed out about the stand (that was a person airside who saw what was going on) that may be where the OP's here got the info from and didn't see the response and thus it snowballed.
There is a UAE AF A330 quoted as 1300 scheduled to arrive at 13.00 today (yes 1300 at 13.00 so I haven't mistyped it before anybody thinks it looks like an error). I think we can be sure that won't have helicopters on board either
Andy
edit - I quoted some stand numbers above and for those not familiar with stansted here's a plan of the northside with the stand numbers etc, it's a bit old ?(the Fayair hangar isn't shown) but the stand numbers haven't changed, HTH

UAF1229 showing as 1227 looks to be heading back across the pond out of Cherry Point, maybe an early morning arrival?

Did a USAF C17 come in Monday evening ? Someone told me that it was scheduled, but I seemed to miss it on ASDB as I was busy and was dipping in an out of it every 30 minutes or so.
The delayed UAE 330 MRTT should also be in lunchtime today, although I can't yet see it on ADSB.
