October B52 deployment
Re: October B52 deployment
Also supporting my theory of a long B52 deployment

Ground crew from Minot are also at Fairford further increasing my suspicion of rotations. Also noticed instead of the US just using ladders to pack the parachutes there are several sets of permanent scaffolding for them now. The large amount of support could be for when a rotation occurs 8 ac may be at fairford at once.

How on earth does that suggest Minot ground crew are present!?
Re: October B52 deployment
Why would Minot post something unrelated to them Barksdale has not posted the same post.

Re: October B52 deployment
They didn't post it. They're merely quoting a tweet from the Department of Defence.
Had you considered it may possibly be because they operate the same aircraft?

Re: October B52 deployment
Indeed they are but you would think Barksdale would quote it as they are the ones deployed?

Re: October B52 deployment
Minot has a very active (and indeed, proactive) social media team. Barksdale's is...less so.
Re: October B52 deployment
The 5th BW are currently responsible for the Continous Bomber Presence Pacific with a number of a/c and crews deployed to Andersen AFB, Guam. So can’t see them in the near future supporting the European equalivent. The 2nd BW at Barksdale are also supporting a deployed force at Al Udeid, Qatar, so I would imagine there isn’t the resources kicking about for a large and prolonged deployment here.

Re: October B52 deployment
Finally got a chance to visit Fairford this coming Tuesday, is Rhymes Field still access able or is it a no go area now?
Re: October B52 deployment
From what I have heard Roughcutter, there is a bull in the field with a sign on the gate - Mr Luxton warned me last week that he isn't too friendly!!
Take care

Re: October B52 deployment
Sorry just realised that. Could personnel leave and more return after on a different flight?
