Air Cadet Visit in 1968

As mentioned in the Nostalgic photography I was fortunate to have a visit with the Air Cadets on the 6th September 1968 which also included a flight in the Valetta. Bearing in mind that i was only 14 at the time and had only just started noting serials, I managed to log a few of the aircraft we saw that day. It is a very basic log as so please excuse the lack of squadron allocations and/or manufacturers assigned aircraft on trials.
Valetta T3 WJ491
Meteor T7 VW453
Hastings C1A TG502, C2 WD496
Javelin FAW2/7 XA778, FAW9 XH897
Beverley C1 XB261
Lightning F1/3 XG329
Chipmunk T10 WD321/3
Comet 4C XS235
Hunter T7 WV318
Andover C1 XS647
Hercules C1 XV178
Canberra T4 WJ865, WH854, B2 WH715, WH876, PR3 VX181
Harrier GR1 XV739
Nimrod MR1 XV148
Vulcan B1A XH478, B2 XH539,
Harvard KF314, KF183, FT375
Viscount XR802,
Scout AH1 XP165, XP189, XR436,
SH3D Seaking XV370
Wasp HAS1 XS528/423
Wessex HU5 XT768, HC2 XS679, HAS3 XM919,
Whirlwind HAR3 XJ394, HAS7 XN785, XK907, XG589, HAR5 XJ398
Bristol 170 Freighter XJ470
Sorry if it looks like a shopping list but I did not want to take up too many lines. There were a couple of areas we were not allowed to see so this would not be a complete log of all the aircraft present at Boscombe Down but I hope it is of interest to show some of the varied types operating at the time. Some of the aircraft are still complete or preserved as cockpits in museums and a couple are still flying on the civil register.
