Hi guys.

Thought you guys would like to know this;
'On 22nd and 28th March, fixed wing aircraft from the USS Theodore Roosevelt are scheduled to operate from the airfield during daylight hours'.
Taken from the RNAS Yeovilton enthusiasts group on Facebook.
I know this has been in the planning for several months, so now it's official.

Hi mate.

Can't confirm numbers and types yet but, think of those 'fast' aircraft and their 'post office' aircraft that are normally on a US Carrier.... :D

Lewis

Many thanks for your 'heads up' on this. I for one am happy to take it as it comes and appreciate those that are gracious enough to pass on what they've heard.

Jon, you seem to be in the know. So tell your fellow enthusiasts!

Come on Cessna,

This is Fighter Control, much more chance of people keeping it to themselves ! Lost count of the amont of times people post info only to be corrected by other people, its a pity these other people (you know who you are) dont share the information in the first place.

I was asked to keep the info to myself so what am I suppose to do?? :grr:

I corrected the original post as I did not want people to come down expecting more than there is likely to be, but if I get people moaning because of that I just wont bother next time hence why I deleted the post.

Dont let it bother you fella, its a lottery what comes around anyway, people ought to realise that. Id just be grateful to have anything wearing a star'n'bar that isnt of the usual stock of UK based airframes.
Ill try and be there no matter what pitches in. :thumb:

There were 2 x C.2,s at Yeovilton at the end of May 2011 from the USS G.W.Bush, the carrier was at Spithead/Portsmouth, lets hope the same thing happens this time around.

Can we keep it civil please, I don't want to have to lock this thread. Any comments which do not add to the thread will be deleted.

Why are people acting like an entire carrier air wing is going to turn up at Yeovilton? The maximum you're likely to see is two C-2 Greyhounds. Anything else will be a weather divert.

That big boat is on a 'round the world cruise' because it's changing its homeport. It will be working in the 5th,6th and 7th fleet.

It also left port 2 days late so that may have a effect on the issue.
