Thursday 07th April 2022 10:00L

Finally seen something interesting this year. Out on a clear, cold and very windy ramp this morning were :

ZZ415 Wildcat HMA2
ZH831 Merlin HM2(AEW)
ZR285 Merlin (for Poland) still in primer.

Also on the ramp parked about 25m behind the Polish was a small car trailer with a rotating radar antenna and a glass/perspex domed lid. Wonder if it's available as an upgrade for my Plane Plotter setup :P

Cheers
Malcolm

Monday 11th April 2022 08:30L

Seen from the bedroom window this morning:

(Z____) Merlin in primer, engines and all spinney bits missing, no markings, pushed into the paint shop. Got a few photos, but need to research if it's possible to tell Canadian from Polish from Noggie by window arrangement.

Nothing out on the ramp by the time I got there at 09:00.

Cheers

A review of the photos strongly suggests this new Merlin is/will be for Poland (two windows on the port side).

1200L Flying as WHE06 AW101 in primer.
Showing on FR24 as 43C926 0268. 0268 is Norway
Showing on RadarBox as 43C926 ZR285. Photo shows ZR285 fully painted.
Is this actually ZR287 ??
If so the report by 'TomJH' on Wednesday would also be ZR287 ??

Also Flying as WHE03 Wildcat AH1 ZZ406.

Is anyone able to physically confirm that the AW101 in primer is ZR287 not ZR285.

AFAIK the only primer Merlins currently flying are ZZ100 and ZR285. I'm not aware that anyone has seen ZR287 outside of the paint-shop yet.
