Is it possible that they have utilised this airfield as a secure site for any aircraft that are escorted to land here and be checked over? Or VIP aircraft perhaps?

Thought there might be a new radio contact number. listened to a chap complaining that 118.425 was the wrong radio last night after straying into the Lyneham ATZ.
I listened to 118.425 all day even when the gliders were flying and heard nothing till around 6 oclock when the aircraft were being hangared.

118.425 is now Atlas Control, as is 119.225, the old Lye Twr freq.
It was changed to 130.1 ( one of the national glider freqs ), as the normal raf glider freq is 129.975, which Upavon & Hullavington both use near to Lye.

Equally Kenley have restrictions too on 129.975 in London.

Gliders:
129.975 130.1 130.125 130.15 130.4 130.425 131.025
Halton 130.425
Rissington 124.1
Chivenor 130.2
Henlow 121.1
Lasham 131.025
Odiham 122.1
Syerston 125.425

Didn't think 130.1 would last long.
Don't think 123.3 will either as every base has it as a standard nato backup with 122.1

Good to see that Lyneham is being used for a bit of flying again, albeit only on a temporary basis.
