So what will happen to Chivenor after 2013?

Government have announced that 24 Cdo Engineer Regt will disband after April 2013. This will leave just the two Seakings on the airfield.
With the new Government plan to scrap the fleet of Seakings, and Chivenor earmarked for one of those that are being 'scrapped' for SAR, i guess Chivenor will close for good unless another tenant unit can be found soonish.

Would be a shame as Chivenor has attracted some decent helicopter movements since it closed.

It doesn't look good, such a waste of an excellent airfield. I guess the VGS will stay and hopefully some other lodger units will move in.
