Newquay 30/09/20

Post by Wobs58 » Thu Oct 01, 2020 2:26 pm

Evening:

ZA681 (SHF434) Chinook made a high flyover
ZH889 (Comet141) C-130 A couple of approaches
ZZ171 (Ascot816) Landed for crew swap, then several visual approach touch and goes.

Cobham

ZJ240, ZJ707 both outside with ZJ242 hangared - Griffin HT.1
ZJ246, ZJ248 both outside with ZJ252 hangared - Squirrel HT.2

hangared back left Grey AB-412 type possibly under overhaul, back right large grey helo panels off, difficult to identify amongst the clutter. Any help with these two would be appreciated.

Thanks to BHXBrian for the advice

A109s ZR324 and 325 should both be at Newquay, both of them are grey though.

I seem to recall an 84 squadron Bell being there too but I can't remember which!

Thanx EGVP. The Dauphins are berthed in the BIH hangars I think. If you ever recall which Akrotiri 412 is in Cobhams, don't be shy ! The machine on the right is more Puma/Merlin sized.

ZR324 and ZR325 were both sold on. They went to a company at Kidlington, i believe one has been sold.

Your Grey Bell will have been ZJ704 which has since departed on its journey back to Cyprus.

Possibility your big helicopter in the corner was the AW139 ZR283, which I believe is now for sale?

Thanks Ben. I had given up on these! A real lockdown treat.
