Jolly Green Giant patches.

Post by Tronk 11 » Sun Feb 10, 2019 8:08 pm

Hello,
Just thought I'd point some collectors in the direction of this blog if you collect any jolly green giant patches. All are original and give you some history to the patch and squadron.

I found a picture of the HH-53C, and have put a tribute up for jolly green 72 crew. Who were lost 40 years ago.

Just for an update. Its taken just over a year, but its FINALLY done. All of the Jolly Green Giant shield patches (that I know of) are on the blog. I'm steadily working through this again to enhance the site with groups of patches plus the units history. Most patches have some history behind them, ones like the 38th CBABS have amazing stories behind them.

Its set up as a heritage site to the Jolly Green Giant crews, plus if you collect you'll know what to look for, and the history behind each patch.

I don't think there are and fakes/repros, as there are auction sites awash with them. These are the genuine article and hope this is a good reference site for anyone collecting patches, especially jolly green giant ones.

Any comments are gratefully received, I work on feedback, and making this a good site for anyone. The first few units are chronologically listed (21, 26, 31) and I'll be working on the rest in future.

Hope you like it,

A great tribute to all those who served or currently serve with the the Rescue Squadrons

Thanks AMR for the blog and congratulations on completing it (for now & until a new patch is issued :thumb: )

Thanks to you, Mr FG and of course ‘Jolly Green’ for the help with my collection!

Darren

Thanks Darren. The blog is all numerical now, so starts with the 21st SOS and ends with the 4412th and SPO.
