Hi everyone

I picked up these two patches today from the Newark Air Museum Aeroboot Sale, i found the second patch very intersting and was informed by the seller that this patch was issued to all the aircrews who took part in the show... i would like to know more about it... if any of you guys could shed more light on this Alconbury patch it would be very much appreciated with all my thanks in advance.

Always nice to see patches. I have been collecting since the early 70s....in the 80s decided to concentrate on USN/USMC/USCG and swapped all my NATO/RAF/USAF for Navy bits, since then the collection has grown to over 8000....and still growing !! A bit to many to put up on here but if anyone is interested my collection is online here.

Always interested in buying/trading if anyone has anything

Gary - did you see any 51 Sqn patches at all at the show? Some of the crew were wearing some very nice looking RC-135 related ones

Anyone spot the mistake in the Op Newcombe patch?

There was a 51 Sqn stall but no RJ patches for sale on the Sunday.

I noticed the flag is back to front, should make it more valuable surely

51 Sqn had some patches for sale but they were either squadron crests or old Nimrod ones, several of the aircrews walking about were wearing nice looking patches. None of which were available to buy unfortunately

Here are a VC10 T-shirt and patch I picked up at Legends last weekend:

For anyone who may want one, they are available from the guys at ARD (Aviation Retail Direct). I have no affiliation with this firm other than as a customer but thought it may be of use to people wanting one as I haven't anything available elsewhere. They will be somewhere at Fairford for those going.
Cheers

Very happy, got patches from the Irish, Brazilian and the Greeks

Unfortunately the Portuguese, Estonian, Italians, Omani & Jordanians (Do the latter two ever?) weren't selling :'(

Gary, Arab airforce don't do selling. Had some success from both in the past, but nothing this year except for the mandatory RIAT stickers from Jordan.

Thanks Asif

That's a good haul you got :thumb: Shame about the Arab airforce not selling, the Jordanian C-130 crews had a couple of cool patches on. The Libya patch is that a Mirage F1 or Super Puma patch?

Gary, The French Libya patch was from the crew of Gazelle helicopter.

I've been trying for a few years to get the 'Guts Airline' printed patch from the Jordanian C-130 crew. Get busted each year. This time round the head guy who sets up the tent and give out the freebies, even recognized me!!!

Have had better luck with the Omani's and have managed to get a couple of their patches in the past, but nothing from this crew either years they come to Fairford.

 Thanks mate :thumb: Which day did you get the Gazelle patch? I walked past them Friday through Sunday may be twice a day and didn't catch them selling .

Hope you have more success with the Jordanian next time, I didn't try to get one this year. I tried previous years and they looked at me as I was mad

Gary,

The French patches were out front of the Puma on Saturday. The table had a mixed bag of stuff from various Army Helo units. This one just stood out and was the one I bought. Was tempted by some of the NH-90 patches as well, but was running low on funds.

My only regret at Fairford was not getting the anniversary patch from the Hungarian Gripens. Meant to go back but got distracted by so many other interesting items.
