Gulf War Tornado ZG750 25th Anniversary Print

Post by Squadron Prints » Thu Feb 25, 2016 1:38 pm

This weekend sees the unveiling of the Gulf War (90-91) Memorial - an event to mark the 25th Anniversary of the Gulf War and will be dedicated to the 47 personnel who died during the conflict at the National Memorial Arboretum. 25 years since the Royal Air Force helped liberate Kuwait from Saddam Hussein’s forces, an RAF Tornado GR4 has been painted in the iconic Gulf War “desert pink” paint scheme to honour the aircraft type’s almost continuous operational service since then. On 28 February – the 25th Anniversary of Saddam’s forces’ withdrawal from Kuwait – the aircraft is planned to stage a flypast at the National Memorial Arboretum at an event honouring the British Forces involved in Gulf War I.
Since that time, the Tornado has been operationally deployed almost continuously and has been at the forefront of the Royal Air Force’s strike and reconnaissance capability in a number of operational theatres worldwide. These operations are inscribed on ZG750’s tail rudder.
Squadron Prints Ltd is proud to release this print as our own personal tribute to the Tornado GR aircraft, Squadrons and many personnel - whilst remembering the roles that many other aircraft, squadrons and people have played in Operations around the world.
