Great start Luke and welcome to the hobby. The 492 Maint coin is pretty impressive.

Thank you! A friend was selling his collection so it was a lucky find!

On the other hand, apart from EBay i find it quite hard to find anywhere to source coins from!

Airshow are the best place and at places like RIAT, Tiger Meet (technically an open house) etc. the squadrons will have them for sale at various prices (often different each day in the case of RIAT).

There is also the Patch Meet at Mildenhall if your nearby (next one 22nd Sept) - viewtopic.php?f=352&t=161361

Beyond that a few of the squadrons sell online and there is a list in the pinned thread on this board to a few (37 BS have a great Facebook page and the French are quite good at selling online).

and of course Squadron Prints - https://www.squadronprints.com/search/? ... al%5D=coin have a selection of mainly RAF coins available direct.

Once your collection starts to grow and you pick up spares then you can start trading with other collectors.

Thanks for taking the time to reply.
I am really keen on USAF challenge coins, do you know if you need to be a member to attend the mildenhall patch meet? It’s quite a journey for me so I wouldn’t want to arrive and find out I need to be a member!

Thanks, Luke
