Leuchars Lightnings

A video of Lightnings at Leuchars shot between 1966 and 1974. All the footage was taken before they started to paint them camouflage so they are all silver machines.

I can only just remember the last few lightning displays at Leuchars.What a machine!Many many thanks for the link and sharing.

Fantastic - forgot how good flying Lightnings looked
Can't recall seeing the "run and roll under break" before! Was that a standard procedure or a special display routine?

Don't think it was standard. Have seen Germany Navy F-104 Vikings do the same during displays

Many thanks for all the kind words folks. I'm still working on some more vintage film from 1960s and 70s Leuchars and Lossiemouth. If you liked the Lightnings video you will love what's coming........
This has been posted before but for anyone that missed it, RNAS Lossiemouth Air Days from 1966 and 1969. The film incorrectly states the second show is 1967. -
