Re: Leuchars 2013 Participation - Updated 15/08
That would be great, maybe our Dutch friends would be kind enough to bring a KC-10 over too? Still crossing my fingers about the Canberra PR9!

Well done on getting the VC-10! It would be lovely to see a Canberra flying in the skies over North East Fife once again!

am sure the airshow team are doing there best

Re: Leuchars 2013 Participation - Updated 15/08
Afternoon,
fully accept that the show team will be working flat out to secure participants but a re-action to the listed static & flying displays -there is a lack of current in-service types participating. Again accept the Air Force is a shadow of its former self & capability but these events are an opportunity to show the public what they are paying for. They serve as a PR Exercise for the RAF. I shall be as glad as anyone to see a civilian Canberra flying/static but even it will not match an ex-RAF Germany BI 8 sitting on a wing tip as it was hauled round the sky over Fife. This is not looking through rose -tinted spectacles it is a request that the Senior Staff within the RAF look to the opportunity the show represents to tell the public what the future for the RAF looks like. This event is for all the community not just enthusiasts, so ex-military hardware is fine, civilian participants good but current front-line equipment is the story that needs to be told. Yes it is thin on the ground, yes there are commitments but without public support the Forces will struggle. They exist as an aid to the civil power they need to demonstrate what shape that aid can take. Delighted there is a show but use the opportunity it presents.

This is starting to get silly now. Why does every aircraft have to be questioned? Surprised you haven't asked for two Gripens yet seen as there are a few Typhoons on the list. Or have I missed something........Why the Rozzer Scotland Helicopter and not the Scottish Charity Air Ambulance?
