Hi Graham,

Thanks for the update, its much appreciated. Also what time do the gates open?
This looks to be a great day & I'm really looking forwards to it, especially seeing the F-86. Will all of the participating a/c be landing at Bentwaters or will some be launching their displays from elsewhere?

Looks like Sunday will be the best day weatherwise too :) .

If youre on base Saturday keep an eye out for the Queens birthday flypast as that should be visible in the distance to the North / North West of Bentwaters sometime between 12.30 - 13.00.

The gates open at 10am and the show finishes at 5pm

As far as i know all aircraft will be operating out of Bentwaters, the F-86A is also booked for Cosford the same day so not sure of its itinerary.
One of the old T2 hangars which is empty has been earmarked for parking, their making use of all available space !!

Thanks for the timings of the Queens flypast i will keep an eye out.

What a superb day we had at Bentwaters. Many thanks to all of you who organised this magnificent day.
The traffic control was well thought out & it was very easy to get on & off of the base which makes the day so much more enjoyable.

As for the event itself it was 100% superb with a great variety of aircraft & a flying display with no gaps in it :thumb: .
Plenty to see & do on the ground & more than enough food outlets to choose from :thumb: .
Toilets were plenty & any queues went down quickly :thumb: .

The airshow commentary was also excellent, keeping the crowd informed & entertained throughout the day :thumb: .

Highlight of the day for me was watching the F-86 & Hunter do their routine & also seeing Top Gears James May in attendance at the show.

Weather was great too :thumb: .

Thanks to all you guys & girls who made this show something very special. Your efforts are VERY much appreciated. WELL DONE!

Hey G, Carolyn said at the end, 'see you next year', so looking good but im volunteering for the same job, I dont envy the guys on traffic duty! Well done Allan (F104AMI), Archie,John, and the rest of the volunteers, I know from feedback today that you guys were unsung heroes. Everyone deserves a pat on the back for the great efforts, but these guys were brilliant! And the feedback and compliments recieved are greatly apprieciated, cheers Tankbuster

Thanks again guys.
If possible could you pass on my thanks to Sarah & the other staff at BP, or should I email her directly at Bentwaters?

It was a great airshow & of just the right size. The show was well handled and the day flowed very nicely. I think if it gets any bigger it could be a bit too much to handle, although I'm sure more people will come next year as the word is spreading fast of what a great day it was.
For your first airshow I think it was well organised with the right amount of aircraft & ground attractions etc & I would say that you got it right first time. I really could'nt fault anything about the day at all as it was so well organised from my experience of it.

Only suggestion I would have for next year is to try & keep it the same size & perhaps see if the USAF at Mildy & LN would be interested in supporting the event in some way & also the RAF. I did hear quite a few Americans in the crowd on Sunday at the show, which was quite nice as for those moments it gave it the atmosphere of the old Air Friendship days.

My son is a real Top Gear fan so he was very pleased to see James May at the airshow. He ran off with my camera to get some photo's of James standing outside on the 1st floor of the control tower. My son managed to get a wave from James so that made his day.

  ROLL ON 2011
