Saw this on Facebook today....
"It's just been confirmed that there will be a "Mini-HELiDAYS" at The Helicopter Museum over the weekend of 23th/24th July. The Czech Navy will be bringing a Mi-17 and a Mi-24."
hopefully they are coming to Riat as well, otherwise that would be a serious snub!

No idea! Just copied what was posted on the Helidays facebook group today. Regardless, my point stands. If the Air Force (

) attend Helidays and not Riat...will be quite a snub

The Czechs have snubbed every British airshow this year, RIAT isn't an exception. Hopefully the RAF will return the favour, but our officers won't see it like that!

I hope so too, especially as the RAF as sending 3 displays to Ostrava. Wonder if the Czech Gripen listed on the Leuchars site will actually make it..

If the crew are golfers you can count on it. (If a two seater that is!)

I contacted the Museum to ask when the Czech AF were due, this is the reply:
"Dear Mr Cherry
The said aircraft are due for arrival between 11am and 12 noon tomorrow. Visitors will be able to view the fly-in / positioning but there will be no access to the helipad or aircraft themselves until Saturday.
Kindest regards
Lee"
Someone on the Official helicopter musuem facbook page has stated they are due for a sunday afternoon departure, but dont know how true that is

Another email from them just now:
"Dear Mr Cherry
Upon advice of our safety marshals, it is doubtful that we will be able to open up the viewing area for the first arrivals due to their close proximity of their positioning to the viewing area.
Kindest regards
Lee"
If im honest, ive never been to the Helicopter museum before (its been on my to do list for awhile) but I would assume there must be somewhere safe outside (car park?) that you can probably view from. Looking forward to sunday

There is, the car park or there is a path along the main road outside. I'd opt for the latter, as i would imagine they would come in from the east. If from the west, well, oh dear..!
