Not really an airshow as such but the Bentwaters Cold Museum has its open day on August 7th, so come along and see the progress on the Lightning, plus a close look at the other aircraft. Also there will be family orientated enterainment and the opportunity for airfield tours - all are welcome
The theme this year will be the 50th anniversary of the Tiger meet, the first being at RAF Woodbridge in 1961.

Going to miss that. My eldest would have loved to look around. Not arriving in Norfolk until the 14th(camping Thetford Forest) there for American Air Day and maybe a bit of plane spotting at Lakenheath/Mildenhall if OH lets me.

Just to expand on what urkles posted earlier.......
The Bentwaters Cold War Museum are having their annual Open Day on Sunday August the 7th.
The main attraction are non-stop guided airfield tours on a coach to view areas which are normally out of bounds to the general public, these include the hardened aircraft shelters, hush house,'star wars' building, bomb dumps, victor alert barns etc.
The main theme of the event is to celebrate fifty years of NATO Tiger Meets which all started at nearby RAF Woodbridge in 1961,Woodbridge was the other half of the 'twin bases' when the 81st TFW were in residence.
The museums Hunter will be sporting 'Tiger' markings for the day
See museum website for more details

Please note there is NO flying display but are hoping for some fly throughs during the day.
Cheers - Graham

Sounds like a good event again. I've been the last couple of years & have been really impressed. Having to miss it this year though due other arrangements I have

.
It would be nice if the 81st FS A-10s from LN could do a fly by for you, but I guess thats very unlikely on a good day and even less likely on a Sunday... One day perhaps?
Hope the day goes well for you all.

Yes, it would be nice to see one with the museum.
It's a real shame that 655 is no longer with us, that was my favourite A-10 because it was the 81st TFW Commanders aircraft. It later appeared at many UK airshows with the SP markings, which was nice to see.
I'm hoping to go to LN next week to do some Hog watching.
