Just to expand on what urkles posted earlier.......
The Bentwaters Cold War Museum are having their annual Open Day on Sunday August the 7th.
The main attraction are non-stop guided airfield tours on a coach to view areas which are normally out of bounds to the general public,these include the hardened aircraft shelters,hush house,'star wars' building,bomb dumps,victor alert barns etc.
The main theme of the event is to celebrate fifty years of NATO Tiger Meets which all started at nearby RAF Woodbridge in 1961,Woodbridge was the other half of the 'twin bases' when the 81st TFW were in residence.
The museums Hunter will be sporting 'Tiger' markings for the day
