Come and join us on “The Hardest Day” on 18th August with the sky full of Spitfires and Hurricanes depicting the era both in the air and on the ground.
David Winstanley BHAL CEO said: "We are delighted to announce that we are well underway in our preparation for a spectacular public event along with other com
memorative events which will honour those that served in The Battle of Britain during the 80th anniversary year, here at the most famous of all of the Royal Air Force fighter stations. Due to the significant infrastructure projects, which will deliver the undertaking given to the local community in 2015, the airport’s ability to stage the Festival of Flight in 2020 has been impacted, but you will not be disappointed with this alternative"
“The Hardest Day” was the climax of the Battle that determined the course of WWII. The Battle of Britain was the first campaign to be fought entirely in the air and RAF Biggin Hill played a significant role in the battle. We will remember them.
