Re: Bournemouth Air Festival 2012
Don't think they've got a permit to fly right now. The last one expired in June.

Re: Bournemouth Air Festival 2012
Can only make the Thurs/Fri but the displays looking half decent, wouldn't have minded doing all 4 days down there this year.
Nice to see the RAF Merlin doing a flypast on the Thursday & Friday, lots of helo's this year...

The Air Festival facebook page has been updated with this news:
So basically it goes back to what I said about them not being issued with a new permit to fly.Due to operational difficulties, surrounding the display certification, the Sea Vixen will be unable to participate in this year’s Air Festival
Re: Bournemouth Air Festival 2012
Couple of days to go, and even the weather looks favourable so far.
Anyone know what they've got to replace the Sea Vixen? I'm hoping it might be the new Meteor T7 that's on the circuit.

Is Gnatty available?
I see Miss demeanour arrived last night about 7

Re: Bournemouth Air Festival 2012
I last saw the Gnat flying around March presumably on a test flight, but haven't seen it about since then so I doubt it'll be participating.
It does have a permit to fly though.

Re: Bournemouth Air Festival 2012
If you are a photographer then the end of Bournemouth pier or from a boat in the bay as anywhere else is direct into sun. I use the end of the pier, and if you have a look at last years shots here on my website:2e1var wrote:Any tips on the best place to view from ?
