You might be right there so far (except the GameBird), I'm really hoping for some classic jets to be added at some point.

Their website & tickets went live today,
https://www.sywell2024.co.uk/tickets - £38 Early Bird, £45 Advance, £52 Full price. (Early Bird & Advance Cheaper than Duxford's (£49.50, with Duxford charging more for parking too) summer show tickets - seems like they've been reasonable with the pricing.)

A few interesting points from the website
Advanced tickets only
Early Bird Tickets are limited: Should Early Bird Tickets sell out before 29th February - the ticket price will automatically increase to the Advance Ticket price.
Will there be a flight line walk?
Yes, access will be an additional £5 and tickets for this can be purchased on the day at the entrance to the flight line walk. More information with regards to the flight line walk will be available closer to the event.

Flying Bulls B-25 also now showing on the website. https://www.sywell2024.co.uk/aircraft, Flying Bulls Corsair also announced this morning.

And on Saturday 13th Jan they announced via Facebook the addition of the Dutch Fokker XXI, what a line up, and it's still only January!
If it wasn't for bad luck, I'd have no luck at all...

Two more additions today, another Tiger Moth and ARC Buchon Yellow 10
A few were concerned that the Buchon would be out numbered in our flying display. Fear not, Yellow 10 from the Aircraft Restoration Company will be at #sywell2024 to provide some support. Assuming this is “Night Fright” C-47 Skytrain 42-100521 formerly of the 79th Troop Carrier Squadron, 436th Troop Carrier Group that flew with the USAAF from Membury
airfield (Station 466) during WW2.

I was also under the impression that the runway at Membury (just behind M4 Membury Services West) had to have it's runway extended to fly the completed C-47 out of there?
Google Earth (Aug 2022)shows a large percentage of the Airfield covered in Solar Panels & buildings on the existing hard runway. There is a grass strip about 13/31 by max' 3250 ft long
(obstructed SE. end!)... But I see no runway extension work having been done?

I would be very happy if somebody could post a link to update when this first flew & where it is now please? All results of my searches are at least 2 years old & provide no relevant
current information or news!

Yet to fly, hopes to fly in time for D-Day commemorations.

To fly from Membury eventually, currently under restoration at Coventry.

At Coventry for restoration according to their website. It is hoped to operate from Membury in the future.

Not sure the Runway has been extended yet. The aircraft was at Coventry, last I heard. As far as I am aware it hasn't flown yet but is getting close.

Thanks for the info' chaps. I did see that 'History' page but somehow managed to skip over the bit 'Ben Cox at Coventry' !

I have definitely got ahead of myself with the development of a runway at Membury, due mainly to my clear recollection that the Team had hoped to participate in the 75th Anniversary Duxford- Caen D-Day Event in 2019.
I had presumed the subject C-47 had at least done its born again maiden-flight & I had overlooked that milestone somewhere!

Following 2019 & the outbreak of Covid, all info' on this projects progress seems to have fallen by the wayside. Obviously, with no idea of the project's status, I can't make a valid opinion on the liklihood of 'Night Fright'
being signed-off to participate in the 80th Anniversary D-Day flying or indeed making it to Sywell 2024 in just 5 months time?

Being a self-imposed Social Media pariah I have ventured into the dark-side today. Only to find an apology for lack of updates & a rare post from the 'Night Fright' Team on 5th Jan 2024
stating that they won't be posting much more before the C-47 goes outside for engine-runs to make it...."more of a surprise". Okaaaay? :O
Anyway, back to the ever-giving line-up of the topic subject! :thumb:
