Hi,
The reds will probably be the only Mil Aircraft in Blackpool for the show.
The fastjets are currently at Liverpool.

Does anyone know if the Lanc will be displaying with the BBMF and if so will it be in Blackpool for the night?

Kindest regards
Tys

I believe it will be the Dakota, she appears at a little show near me (Middlewich) in an hour, then heads up to Southport, before overnighting in Liverpool, she then displays again tomorrow does a fly by in Kendal again in Nottingham before returning to Coningsby. She appears to be on her own too (IE no Hurricane or Spit in support)
Hope this helps
Ian

I don't suppose any body has a rough display time for the Dakota do they? I've just been to Middlewich for their WW2 day, but the kids were moaning they were cold so I came home again!! (If thet decide to do the show again next year I shall go again as it was facinating, a lot of the towns folk were wandering round in period costumes along with the re enactment society that was present.
The reason I ask is because it usually transits straight over our house on it's way to Southport from Middlewich.

From their web site:
Southport Air Show – CANCELLATION – Sunday 19th September 2010.
Today’s Southport Air Show has had to be cancelled due to severe overnight weather which has caused flooding at the site. This together with the weather forecast for the rest of the day has left the organisers with no option other than cancellation.
We can only apologise to our customers for any inconvenience this causes.
Advance ticket holders will be able to obtain refunds by returning unused advance tickets to Sefton Arts, Waterloo Town Hall, Great Georges Road, Waterloo, L22 1RB

Wx missing Southport ?!? It didn't... rain came in right on time at 14.00 for the Red Arrows display (I subsequently blamed Baggers for not booking the sun..) and the rain pretty much stayed until the end. At least 50% of the crowd left after the Reds display, very few people stayed along the beach to watch the Hawk, Tucano, Tutor...

Alas, I had a good day, shame it was canx today but seeing it rain last night and again this morning, it doesn't surprise me.

Will post a list of participants should anyone need it.

Perhaps The Airshow Organisers had a premonition about the appalling weather because next year the Southport
Airshow will be held on the 23rd & 24th, July, 2011. Also The Woodvale Rally (model Aeros) will be held on the 6th,
& 7th, August, 2011.

For the info of aviation enthusiasts who live a long way from Southport, there is a Large Premier Inn Complex about 100 yards from the Southport Sea Front where the displays take place, it has a large carpark.

Believe the change of date next year is due to high tide times Frank. Will be good to hopefully have some decent weather.... though I won't hold my breath!
