Re: RAF Cosford Air Show 2021
Interesting. Cosfords website under tickets has changed from June 13th to
Currently, we are not in a position to confirm the date of the next RAF Cosford Air Show. We are closely monitoring Government guidelines and advice on COVID-19 and large outdoor events. The safety of our visitors is our priority and we are working hard to ensure that we create a 2021 event with all of the usual excitement whilst keeping everyone safe.

Re: RAF Cosford Air Show 2021
All of these large outdoor events require significant commitments from the public emergency services, either on-site or able to receive casualties off-site.
I'd imagine any police, ambulance, or hospital service leader will struggle to commit their services for a discretionary public event soon enough to allow these shows to go ahead.
Another reason why these shows are highly unlikely to happen this year - but like many I'm sure I'd rather see ambulances helping those suffering from Covid-19 this year or allowing our emergency services staff to have a rest.

****AIR SHOW 2021 UPDATE *****
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 restrictions, and the resulting uncertainty for mass events, the RAF Cosford Air Show team have taken the difficult decision to postpone this year’s event, which was to be held on Sunday 13th June 2021.
Obviously, we are really disappointed to be in this position once again, but we are working hard to develop options for a smaller, socially-distanced event across the weekend of the 11th and 12th September 2021. Watch this space for further details.
Customers who have held onto their 2020 tickets can request a refund from the Tickets section of our website or they will remain valid for a future Air Show event.

Re: RAF Cosford Air Show 2021
I've put the slow tentative progress in announcing participation at this and other currently surviving events down to the Covid situation, however, a look at Sanicole, civilian arranged and on the continent, their flying programme, thus far, suggests they are quite unaware of any pandemic!?!?!

Take a read through here on how Sanicole plan to deal with COVID - Quite well it would seem. viewtopic.php?f=146&t=199109

I'm hoping it does go ahead, even with smaller numbers and a more 'domestic' flying display it will be one more airshow this year
I don't see much, if any international participation and more UK based displays. RAF displays will off course be there, but whatever displays we get in 2021 is a positive

Re: RAF Cosford Air Show 2021
Well if there are, as seen on Sanicole's line up thus far, a typical number of NATO participants, then there certainly shouldn't be any reason why Cosford can't host the same. Apart from a couple of things, the two events coincide, Cosford, despite being the pre-eminent military event of the two, is least able to host high-performance military aircraft directly, they have to rely on nearby Shawbury. Museum apart, I can't quite understand why the RAF don't make Shawbury the venue for their one and only remaining official "At Home". There seems to be more of a confidence problem with UK airshow organisers presently, hardly any movement so far. Mind you, I suppose Belgium are something else again when it comes to air shows, they're just as nuts if not more so than we are about air shows!jasonT1981 wrote: ↑Mon Apr 26, 2021 2:15 amI'm hoping it does go ahead, even with smaller numbers and a more 'domestic' flying display it will be one more airshow this year

Re: RAF Cosford Air Show 2021
Depends how early you get there. I didn't get to do the museum in 2018 due to the first train from Birmingham not getting in until near 11am. By the time I'd gotten into the airfield, got to the Cosford club and got my seat it was too late to do anything.
