Change of date for Culdrose Air Day
Hi all,
Heads up for this one!!
I've just spotted (it has been announced on the Packet website) that Culdrose Air Day will now take place on Thursday 31st July 2014.
This is a complete change to the traditional day of Wednesday and it'll be interesting to see how it all pans out!! --Paul

Hi Malf,
Yes, many thanks for that. It looks like a very good selection of helicopters and aircraft of all sorts - should be really good - especially if the weather behaves itself - the last thing that they need is overcast with rain and fog!!! Let's hope for clear and sunny skies on the day!! --Paul

I'd imagine there's more of the same from Classic Air Force to come, Pete.
Possibly the final occasion we'll see an AAC Lynx display?

Hopefully some international visitors will be added in the coming weeks.

Interesting to see the publicity shots of aircraft using flares . There are already an interesting list of participants ,with hopefully , some nice international aircraft to come . Looking good .

Quite so. I am sure there aren't any restrictions on the use of flares down here.cloudhawk wrote:Interesting to see the publicity shots of aircraft using flares . There are already an interesting list of participants ,with hopefully , some nice international aircraft to come . Looking good .

Just noticed Sea King 4 also flying , plus the Mk.7 Lynx and Hawks listed as flying, perhaps a return of the 'commando assault', it's been a few years since we've had a 'commando assault' down here.Victor5 wrote:Cheers Malf, looks promising.

What ? Beyoncé's coming to Culdrose ? Wow, might even take the whole day off this year !Malfatron Malkovic wrote:Queen Bee will be nice to see.
Oh yeah , good to see you in a suit yesterday Malf !
Re: Change of date for Culdrose Air Day
Regret no role demo or commando assault planned, just plain old single displays, apart from a balbo to start - maybeMalfatron Malkovic wrote:Just noticed Sea King 4 also flying , plus the Mk.7 Lynx and Hawks listed as flying, perhaps a return of the 'commando assault', it's been a few years since we've had a 'commando assault' down here.Victor5 wrote:Cheers Malf, looks promising.

Your link works dave. And yes page has been redesigned
With most of the aircraft from the old list not listed? !!
So anyone looking for what's on at airday 2014 isn't going to be to impressed by what they see !!

I have to say the new look is awful!
Cluttered and all over the place.
Not the best thing the RN has done.

Re: Change of date for Culdrose Air Day
I am aware the new site is currently work in progress, and the aircraft list is incorrect. Aircraft attending are as the previous list was prior to the website redesign. Hopefully it will be sorted soon. (or take down while they fix it!)
