Not sure what its visit purpose is, but nothing in the Royal Calendar. Also Tower sending people to meet his PAX, so an offload!

For those following online, Ascot 1388 is taxing for departure.

Nice images Pete. Did think about jumping in car and heading out, but I'm suffering from the heat as it is, so lazy, lol.

Thanks for the head's-up Dave and Pete. In such a rush to catch it arrive, i forgot i was still on black and white!

By an even greater fluke, i caught it depart- in colour this time - i could smell the damn thing before i could hear or see it. A swift U-turn on the roundabout and pulled in just as it was lining-up.

First time i've managed to snap one at CU.

Do like the B/W Malf, were you standing, 1 foot away from Pete? Looking at the shadow lines must have pressed the shutter less than a second apart.

Still can't find any reference to who came off it.

Edit: No official royal family visits planned and the Government is on their break !

Could it have been the first Sea Lord?
He was at Yeovilton on Wednesday when i was with 815NAS, he said he was going down to CU soon??

Well sussed-out, Dave - i was indeed less than a foot away from Pete! I didn't think i would, but i also like the B/W, it looks shaper than my colour efforts, i must try it more often (intentionally next time).

I'm wondering if it is Prince Charles visiting his Duchy estate on Scilly? Certainly he has done so on this weekend in the past, I remember seeing a Wessex HCC4 several years ago fly over Porthleven in the early evening on the way out. Have 771 been to the islands this afternoon? If so, we can look forward to another visitor on Sun/Mon.

Would not think so as he's in Gloucestershire tomorrow according to his calendar.

It was low enough over Redruth to see that it was a BAe 146 without binoculars. It would of overflown Carn Brea area.

Hi Red Hound,
Yes, many thanks for that. Carn Brea is not too far away as the crow flies - normally i would have
had a look with the nokkies (if i'd heard it- there were very strong easterly winds at the time!!), but somehow missed it - grrrr!!!!
