Sorry to see the Jetstreams go, they have served the Fleet Air Arm for many a day.

Any idea when the King Airs are due to take over at CU ?

Does anyone know if any special marks/scheme are likely to be applied? I'm guessing not, as RAF's Dominies went without any.
I may come down for the flypast, if the date is known, so I'll watch here.
Thanks to those who have already added info.
Cheers
Paul

Wow another Truro based spotter !
Depends which runway they're using . 12 was always my favorite for photos ,parking on degibna lane and walking up to the approach.
I would love to be there today , but shall be at work in Redruth - unless I can find a way to disappear for a couple of hours !
Cheers, Mark

Todays 6 ship XX481/CU-560 XX476/CU-561 XX478/CU-564 ZA111/CU-565 XX486/CU-567 XX487/CU-568

XX481 I believe is going to Hurn on Monday for a photo shoot with one of the King Air's returning to CU around 1400 this will almost certainly be the last flight by a 750 NAS Jetstream T2.

Sounds as though that could well be Henry Orchard's scrap yard. based not far from the entrance to the Eden Project. They had a Nimrod to scrap if memory serves me correctly plus a Canberra both from St. Mawgan some years ago.

i went up there years ago..(back in the 90s) and he had just cleaned up some airframes from St.Mawgan..
there was the remains of a canberra,a comet(and yes it was a comet not a Nimrod,no upper window above the cockpit.it us to be on the dump..) and an andover..?? god knows were that had come from???
plus about 10 large wood box's with BRAND NEW wessex rotor heads in it!!! all for scrap!
i'll see if i can dig out the old photos i got.. ;)
on the jetstream front.. any ideas when the scrapping starts spingo???
