Predannack 17June1966

Post by C24 » Sun Jun 17, 2018 8:19 am

In memory of Lt. Peter George Gwinnell, RN & Mid. Richard Wyn Kenrick, RN.

They died as a result of Wessex XM921 colliding with their Whirlwind XM686.

Not forgotten.

There's no "go-round" in a glider.

Minor correction - "They died as a result of Wessex XN921" - the Wessex was XM921 ( XN921 appears to be part of a black out block ) - well done for remembering them.

Thanks Yammer, corrected.

I'm losing the plot more and more as time goes by but it is not difficult for me to remember that morning.

(The Wessex was piloted by the Captain under guidance of the Station CFI.)

Not forgotten and remembered most days.

No trip this year due to Covid-19 shielding.

Remembering two friends and colleagues.

The memory of that morning’s shock still remains.
