Due Culdrose 27/1

Post by paul simmons » Sun Jan 12, 2014 9:41 am

A couple of weeks away I know but due into Culdrose on the 27th Jan is a Danish Merlin.
It's due to stay until the 29th and will be hosted by 814sqd.

That's quite interesting, Paul. Would it be the first Danish Merlin to visit CU?

Just a quick update to this. The Merlin is due in early afternoon on Monday and due out 09:00 on Wednesday. It's operating with 829 Sqd on Tuesday but will be hangared in 814s (next to the viewing enclosure). All weather permitting !!

Well, it arrived shortly after 14:30(during the greyest part of the day). Hangared around 30 minutes later. Not expected to fly before 16:00 tomorrow. Expected to depart for Mildenhall 09:00 or 10:00 Wednesday.

Nice pics Malf, I'm glad someone was there to catch it.
I have to say the Danish Merlins looked nicer with yellow rescue markings.

Gosh, thank you all so much for the comments, most kind of you all!
I agree, without the yellow markings,It could so easily be mistaken for a Mk.3A

I don't suppose you were in the red car earlier Malf? :P I was the schoolboy with a drainpipe sticking out of his eye over by the Renault :P

Did note a Cobham King Air in today, G-FPLD by the look of it from my pic.

Were you looking out for a sad cnut? Or did the Blue Anchor reference give me away?

Hi Paul, Malf, Kyle and everyone!!
That's an interesting bit of info - would be good to see this one flying around for a day or so before it departs northeastwards! :thumb:
Malf - smashing pics mate - you were definitely in the right place at the right time once again!! --Paul
