Due Culdrose 27/1
A couple of weeks away I know but due into Culdrose on the 27th Jan is a Danish Merlin.
It's due to stay until the 29th and will be hosted by 814sqd.

That's quite interesting, Paul. Would it be the first Danish Merlin to visit CU?
Re: Due Culdrose 27/1
Yay! I hope it's the first of many visitors into CU this year...
Perfect time to exercise my new camera!

Re: Due Culdrose 27/1
Just a quick update to this. The Merlin is due in early afternoon on Monday and due out 09:00 on Wednesday. It's operating with 829 Sqd on Tuesday but will be hangared in 814s (next to the viewing enclosure). All weather permitting !!

Re: Due Culdrose 27/1
Thanks for the heads up. Does anyone know what it is actually going to be doing on Tuesday (and where..) please?
Re: Due Culdrose 27/1
M-520 "DAF 3175" and it has just left Mildenhall @ 1115 for Culdrose.
Re: Due Culdrose 27/1
Well, it arrived shortly after 14:30(during the greyest part of the day). Hangared around 30 minutes later. Not expected to fly before 16:00 tomorrow. Expected to depart for Mildenhall 09:00 or 10:00 Wednesday.

This fellow must be thinking "Cor, blimey! Just look at that sad cnut!"

Nice pics Malf, I'm glad someone was there to catch it.
I have to say the Danish Merlins looked nicer with yellow rescue markings.

Gosh, thank you all so much for the comments, most kind of you all!
I agree, without the yellow markings,It could so easily be mistaken for a Mk.3A

Well, it stayed put in it's hangar today. We reckon the crew must have got spingo'd!

I don't suppose you were in the red car earlier Malf?Malfatron Malkovic wrote:Well, it stayed put in it's hangar today. We reckon the crew must have got spingo'd!

Did note a Cobham King Air in today, G-FPLD by the look of it from my pic.
Re: Due Culdrose 27/1
Well done, sir. 'Twas me in the red car, Buzzer in the van next to me. Your King Air was G-FPLD.

Re: Due Culdrose 27/1
Were you looking out for a sad cnut? Or did the Blue Anchor reference give me away?
Re: Due Culdrose 27/1
Hi Paul, Malf, Kyle and everyone!!
That's an interesting bit of info - would be good to see this one flying around for a day or so before it departs northeastwards!
Malf - smashing pics mate - you were definitely in the right place at the right time once again!! --Paul
