Can anybody confirm Yeovilton Air Day is going ahead in 2023?

Not seen any mention since March when they confirmed no 2022 show, saying...
It is with regret we can confirm, for commercial reasons, that The Royal Navy International Air Day will not take place in 2022. It is hoped the Air Day will be back on as usual in 2023.

(FB post is embedded into the following webpage: https://www.air-shows.org.uk/2022/03/ai ... y-in-2022/ ).

I sincerely hope it will return, but, in reality, will it?

If I remember correctly it's about this time of the year that info starts to come out. Strikes me it's been very quiet which makes me doubt that there will be a 2023 Air Day.

Surprised it's not been mentioned here yet, but this is a link to Flightline UK's FOI Request outcome:

That's the end of any hopes for 2023 then. Maybe 2024.

I cannot see this coming back. Once you've lost the momentum and experienced personnel who may have moved on then it's very hard to reignite the fire again. Very very sad news indeed. One of the very last great one day international airshows in the mold of the old service 'at home days'.

So, that'll be confirmation of the confirmation that is included in the Flightline UK FOI request posted by 'Professsor-M' last Nov 14th just 4 posts above yours! I also predicted that 2023 wouldn't happen before Air-day 2022 was cancelled. With the exception of RIAT this is typical of the decline in past UK Air Show events.... "Miss a year for whatever reason & it aint coming back ever!" ;)

The RN either used or partnered with AHA Events to organise and/or run the Air Day. Unfortunately, that firm went into voluntary liquidation in early 2022 having pulled out of the events business, presumably as a result of Covid. To date the RN have not been able to find a replacement organisation and until they do, I guess there will be no air show.

FYI
Extract from Supporters' email

"We now understand that there are no plans for the Royal Navy to run an International Air Day at RNAS Yeovilton in 2023. It is understood the Royal Navy is continuing to look for a commercial partner to run the event.

We are in the process of reviewing the the Navy Wings Supporters package in light of the access to the event, previously offered to Supporters, not being available this year. We will communicate changes to the supporter package in our weekly emails."

That should be clear enough

I am surprised with obviously the expert staff that AHA had that somebody within the firm hasn't taking up the mantle and started a new business of their own running events hopefully to include future airshows.

An article in the Western Daily Press today concerning the future of Yeovilton Airday has the following from a Navy spokesperson. There will not be any future Airdays until at least 2028, this being due to reconstruction work on base including work on the runway. Make of this what you will, I doubt this event will ever return sadly.

Such a shame, I went for the first time to the last one in 2019, it was a great show. I used to love the smaller shows like Kemble and Biggen Hill also both of which are no more.
