Yeoviltons line up is impressive, and a good price for admission too when you compare the major UK shows like for like.

Re: RNAS Yeovilton Air Day 2011
Hi everyone
I will be travelling up from Cornwall next Friday from a week on holiday and want to take a look in at Yeovilton as a stop off during my journey back home.
I have a couple of questions id like help with please.
Is there somewhere i can safley park the car for an hour or so.
Is Cobham hall ( YNAS Museum Storage Facility ) open to the public this year, as it as been in the past.
I can not make the show due to other plans, so would like to make the most of a few hours on Friday and catch as much as i can.
Many thanks for your help in advance.

Re: RNAS Yeovilton Air Day 2011
good additions, but also two cancellations the Belgian tiger F-16 and the Dutch static Apache but all in all still a very strong line-up.

Re: RNAS Yeovilton Air Day 2011
Belgian F16 is still showing on the Airday website.
Noticed we have also lost the Danish F16, i enjoyed their debut last year, flaretastic.
One Apache lost, One Apache gained. Not bad.
Would love the Chinook to be doing a display rather than sitting in the static though.
Nice and noisy still, i remember a few years ago there was only one perhaps two fast jets. So the noise is welcome again...
Noisy list shows:-
Mig 29
2 x GR4s
Hunters
Hawks
F16 (hoping it doesnt cancel)
Rafales
Super Etendards
Sea Vixen
Vulcan
A few more additions would be awesome, noisy or big...or both. Something Yeovilton never seems to keep hold of is the big stuff. I remember over the last number of years they have provisionally placed up big heavy stuff only for them to cancel shortly after. (AWACS, Nimrod, VC10, P3, etc).
The biggest plane this year will be the CASA 295 unfortunately. Would be lovely to get the A330 in wouldn't it, seeing as its only down the road!

Re: RNAS Yeovilton Air Day 2011
Rich, the Danish Viper was never down to display- only the Dutch have cancelled their Viper demo.
Shame the Tiger Viper has pulled out, but I'll happily take the AAC Apache flying over the Dutch Apache static

I'm thinking the Apache will be used in the commando assault finale. Unless there's an Army air corps Apache demo??

There is an AAC Apache display this year. Saw it at Waddington yesterday.Paul R wrote:I'm thinking the Apache will be used in the commando assault finale. Unless there's an Army air corps Apache demo??
Re: RNAS Yeovilton Air Day 2011
In previous years, the apache has displayed (as part of the blue eagles) and took part in the assault demo at the end too.
This is the Wattisham based Apache i think doing the display.
I did hear a few months ago whilst near Wallop "Eagle 1" doing a "practice display" and was told that a single Lynx would be doing the AAC displays too (and they were obviously rehearsing as they closed the airfield for the duration of the practice). Not heard of it in any shows this year though?

Re: RNAS Yeovilton Air Day 2011
Why are the VTTS doing this again this year? The Vulcan arrived days early last year just to sit there on the ramp. They (VLN) really don't like enthusiasts do they
