(Somewhere along the line, IWM appear to have got in a muddle over the identity of the Fury - it was still marked as SR661 at the weekend).Hawker Tempest Mk II
We are excited to welcome the rare Hawker Tempest Mk II. As the only version of this powerful post-war fighter flying in the world, Flying Days: VE Day will be its highly anticipated first public display! The Tempest has a history flying with the RAF and Indian Air Force service before being kept in storage. Fighter Aviation completed restoration of MW763 last year.
Supermarine Spitfire FR Mk XIV
Spitfire FR Mk XIV, MV293 was built after the Second World War for the RAF before serving with the Indian Air Force (IAF), then returning to the UK for storage. Restored with its reconnaissance camera windows in the fuselage sides, this will be the Spitfire's flying display debut in its authentic RAF markings.
Lockheed 12A
This unique Lockheed 12 Electra provided invaluable reconnaissance over German territory during the outbreak of the Second World War, gathering -in secret- photographs of what was happening on the ground in Europe.
Hawker Fury FB11
The Fury was one of the fastest piston-engine aircraft ever built, at a time when jets were being used by air forces across the world. The fighter is presented in the colours of Sea Fury prototype NX758.
