If Duxford confirm them, and they then do appear, are we expecting them to operate from Duxford, Cambridge, Mildenhall - or somewhere else?jasonT1981 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 01, 2022 10:03 pmPatrouille Suisse self confirm for October show.

Re: Duxford Dates 2022
Don't see why they can't operate out of Duxford, the Brietling Jet Team based out of Duxford in 2019 and they are roughly the same size give or take a few feet.Professor_M wrote: ↑Tue Aug 30, 2022 9:46 amIf Duxford confirm them, and they then do appear, are we expecting them to operate from Duxford, Cambridge, Mildenhall - or somewhere else?jasonT1981 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 01, 2022 10:03 pmPatrouille Suisse self confirm for October show.

Re: Duxford Dates 2022
I'm not sure where to start with that. There's a world of difference between the F-5E and L-39 - not least the wing and the weight.
Duxford's runway is too short for an F-5E. It's just long enough for the L-39/Vampire/MiG-15 when it is dry. However, if it were wet they'd also have to go elsewhere. Duxford's surface also still has some restrictions on it too so nothing with reheat can use it.

Fair enough, I'm not overly familair with the F5. Only seen them once, thought they were around the same size

Re: Duxford Dates 2022
How many support aircraft flights would be expected to accompany the Patrouille Suisse (if they attend)?
RIAT had the Challenger twice and a PC-24 once (I think I am right in saying), but supporting two displays - would similar levels of support be expected for the Patrouille Suisse - or maybe more being larger numbers of more complex aircraft (at least vs. PC-7)?
Also, how often do they bring a grey F-5 with them as a spare, or a twi-seater? I have seen photos of them displaying with a grey jet in the past, but wasn't sure how often this occurs.

Lovely line up for the Flying Finale. And the Swiss are confirmed along with the RAF Typhoon, 4 Spitfires and a lot more

Re: Duxford Dates 2022
I am only able to get to the show at 2pm. Anyone know what entry traffic is like at that time and were your likely to get parked please as need a quick getaway.
Or is there any local places to watch for an hour ?
Due to commitments I only have a few hours spare.

Re: Duxford Dates 2022
Thanks but i know that. I'm usually there 0800 and simply wondering what entrance traffic is like around 2pm and if your parked in a position to see show for 'an hour' and then quick getaway.........or view from somewhere suitable outside as i believe they have restrictions on this if anyone has any previous experience.
Re: Duxford Dates 2022
I think my brain has left the skull! Why does the Swiss Teams' Schedule suggest they will be at Duxford Circa: 12:00 Midday through to 13:00 for their display on Saturday 8th Qct 22 if operating from/to Waddington?
