Has anyone been able to get tickets for this? I’ve been looking at various links throughout the IWM website and can’t see anywhere to buy tickets.

Tickets go on sale to Members this Wednesday and to the general public next week. Limited to 4000 I believe.

Just got membership to assure I get tickets. Not sure how many will be left come the time they go on general sale.

Already got good benefits of it, booked Churchill war rooms and HMS Belfast for a trip the week before Duxford.

Have people who are existing members had a link and code to book tickets, as I have received nothing?

Not yet, its not live just yet. Website has 'book tickets' but just a dead link when clicking.

Code is just your members promo code you got when your membership was confirmed.

Thanks, I gave it a go but just get error code 403, guess the website has crashed or the tickets are not released yet. Interestingly you have to specify one of three zones for your tickets which you have to stay in all day

Line up isn't amazing, its pretty much what I thought. But given the circumstances the team have done well even getting a show together.

Highlights for me are Sally B, Typhoon, Strikemasters and Wingwalkers. But all are good displays. I am looking forward to 2 days of flying :)

I'm wondering if the F18 is being held off, to help sales when tickets go on general release? Don't see Chinook either which was surprising.

Prices, pretty much better than I expected. More expensive than 2019? yes, but IWM Duxford has lost nearly 16 months of full revenue. So price is fair enough.

I am intrigued by the Little and Large duo. I've seen the Extra 300 countless times, but flying with a 40% scale replica model is something that sounds different and fun.

Blades, great display team. Tiger 9 is actually something I had hoped to see again and Catalina does a lovely display.

Surprised no BBMF and only 1 Spitfire. But I guess more to come later.

No shuttle bus, so train actually works out cheaper for me coming from the Stansted area. Doesn't look too far a walk from Whittlesford station to Duxford.

Over-all I am happy enough, and just glad to be seeing an airshow again.

It's a fair walk from the train station, so don't carry too much gear. If your lucky, you might find someone [like me,] who will be attending, that will go around the roundabout, and pick you up!!. Done that many times over the years.

Yep, it's a couple of miles from the station so don't go too heavy!

I'm just grateful there's a chance of an airshow this year. My daughters have been wanting to see the Red's for sometime now and this is substantially better (if a little more expensive) than sitting in a layby watching them fly over en route to London, or other parts.

From my point of view, I just want to see heat coming out of engines so a Typhoon (and if I read correctly an F-18) would be most welcome, especially as Lakenheath has been a bit quiet over ours recently!

To anyone who is going, enjoy the day (and the relative freedom!)
Cheers,

Rob

Does anyone know what time the tickets go on sale to the general public today? Have tried to contact Duxford but not having much luck getting an answer.

I thought the same but the website seems to state general sale from today. Struggling to get an answer from Duxford themselves.

Update - they’re on sale now!

Given the 'necessary' restrictions on free movement, restricted access & the fairly lack-lustre flying display currently detailed, it's clear to me that only the most desperate of Airshow devotees need to scramble to buy tickets for this event? Nobody can begrudge Duxford for trying to make some income at long last, but this current offering falls well short of my VFM-vs-Risk/enjoyment parameters & therefore I won't be applying for tickets this time. Knock yourselves out boyz, plenty of tickets available to Joe Public at this time!
Seems a shame to pass really as I'm following recent Government example of being double-jabbed, wearing a face-mask, hand-gel & a condom just in case I meet somebody else's wife that needs a hug & a booty-grab! :O ;)

"the most desperate of Airshow devotees"

I'm afraid that's me!

Hoping for plenty of sun and looking forward to the Typhoon!

A few points which came out of the volunteer briefing this morning:

First, the plan had to be as near 100% deliverable as possible because they could not be in a situation of using lots of resources and then cancelling again at the last minute. They do realise that there is some dissatisfaction with what can be delivered but the reality is it's on the weekend after restrictions may (only may) be lifted and planning takes time.

Second, the restrictions came about because of what they were allowed to do by the council - I assume South Cambs. So don't blame DX staff for the restrictions.

Also, as stated on the website refreshments and retail will be accessible in each zone; I'm not sure if that includes the usual book sellers, model stalls, sun hat vendors etc.

The flight line will be divided into 3 separate areas, they will try to balance out each of the 3 flight lines but if you are in Blue then you can only access the Blue flight line.

It's clear that the staff on site have worked very hard to get even this far and are desperate to let the visitors as good an experience as possible.

It is what it is and fingers crossed for September.
