Batteries are charged and SD cards formatted.
They are only called Battle of Britain airshows as they take place in September which was when the turning point of the Battle of Britain took place. In the 1960's nearly every RAF station had a Battle of Britain airshow and not a warbird in sight.

It's been a while since I've been to a Duxford show with the aim of photography, recent visits have been with the kids, so time was spent making sure they didn't run away.
Regarding photography, does the far East or far west of the airfield favour the September light? Biggest lens I have is 200mm on a cropped sensor, so the middle is more often a little to far away from the action.
Thanks in advance,
Mike.

The IWM Airshow page does not have the Puma listed, is there a more up to date list or has the Puma been withdrawn. Looking forward to seeing it fly as it's seldom at any events in the air these days.
Re: Duxford Battle of Britain Airshow- 22nd & 23rd September
Looks like the Puma has been removed, sadly.

BrianJoining us for the Duxford Battle of Britain Air Show, 22 & 23 September? Please note that Saturday and Weekend Parking Permits have now sold out. Limited on-site parking is still available for the Sunday.
You can also travel to the air show via Park & Ride. Shuttle buses run from Trumpington Park and Ride and are included in air show ticket prices.

Shuttle bus is included but I think you have to pay a small charge to use the car park at the park and ride though and display your parking ticket.Pen Pusher wrote: ↑Mon Aug 20, 2018 2:00 pmFrom Duxford Facebook page

Cambridge P&R parking if free.
The air show shuttle bus is free so I'm not sure why Duxford are saying they are included in air show ticket prices. What about the people who bought parking tickets, are they paying for the shuttle bus as well?
Brian
http://cambridgeparkandride.info/pricing.shtmlIt's free to park for up to 18 hours, just pay to ride.
If you are parking longer than 18 hours. charges apply.

Council slapped on the £1 parking fee and people stopped using the Park and Rides. Since they abolished the parking fee, I believe numbers have gone up again.

I assume that Duxford is open on the Friday before the airshow. Is this a good day to visit and catch the arrivals / rehearsals??
Re: Duxford Battle of Britain Airshow- 22nd & 23rd September
Absolutely!!. Thursday as well!. Only attend rehearsal/arrival days these days. I can confirm Brian's comments re park ands ride. Used it myself the other day for shopping. No charge. Duxford is open every day except for Christmas Day.

Re: Duxford Battle of Britain Airshow- 22nd & 23rd September
Looks like it is going to be an absolutely cracking weekend!
I only live 15 miles away yet I think even I will have to leave at silly o'clock, just to beat some traffic and park up
The only real dilemma is choosing a decent spot to photograph from...Back in May I got mixed results from the centre and M11 end...Any pointers appreciated!
Nonetheless, hope you all have a fantastic weekend!

Great pity as we were both looking forward to Sunday, but finally decided that the weather and logistics will be against us going on, so the 2x tickets and parking permit are now on ebay (and in the For Sale & Wanted here - but with the same link to ebay) https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/392127432776
