Re: Duxford Summer Airshow - 21st & 22nd June
Just ordered tickets but there has been a change to how ticketing is.
Members now have a separate booking form, when you go into buy tickets there is an option on the left hand side on a red button for members tickets. You no longer have members discount code, you put your membership number and name in.
When getting tickets, if you are looking to get the shuttle bus, it seems you have to pre-book the bus from either Cambridge train station or Trumpington. It will give you the option alongside the parking permit option.
It is no longer See Tickets, all you get now is a barcode. So no longer able to retrieve tickets. So don't lose them as there doesn't seem to be a way to get back to your tickets.

Rich Goodwin's Jet Pitts & Stampe Formation Team have been added.
Slow start, we had a lot more this time last year.

I wonder why Duxford think seaside acts are attractive.
Surely they should be aiming for what happened at Sywell last year or Melun or Le Ferte or How Duxford Flying Legends used to be.
Sad that Duxford has become mediocre..

I guess like many events of all kinds, if they are confident of footfall then they're not too bothered.

Summer show has been more of a "family friendly" feel since before Covid, where-as their September Battle of Britain show seems to be more aimed at enthusiasts. Still, I enjoy both types of show though lean more towards their September show.
Rich Goodwin's Jet Pitts is a great display though.

Am I the only one that shakes his head and thinks bad thoughts everytime " Family Friendly' is mentioned about airshows.jasonT1981 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 16, 2025 12:22 amSummer show has been more of a "family friendly" feel since before Covid, where-as their September Battle of Britain show seems to be more aimed at enthusiasts. When I was a youngster my family loved going to airshows - Mildenhall, Greenham, Duxford Etc- Seaside act free events!

Seaside events are making a come back of sorts from covid - there was a very real possibility the would be gone for good...
Besides, its the only time we see any jets down here, with the disbandment of the hawks at Culdrose.

Looking at this time last year, we had 9 displays announced and at the time up to 7 Dakotas also announced.
This year we have 4 displays.
Yeah, its only Feb 28th but a rather slow start for 2025.
