Hi Peeps :P

I will have my few 'pannorth ;)

Me and SWMBO did not expect the static to be as great as previous years, given budget constraints, so we were not disappointed.

The flying display was well put together, well co-ordinated and pretty diverse, once again given the constraints.

Back in the day, you could always tell when Paul Millikin was at the controls of XH, and you always know, now, when
Kev Rumens is at the controls, as he was on Sunday, for the most awesome display of wing-overs I have ever seen from him (and that's saying something) :Wow:

I personally think we should really enjoy any airshow put before us currently, as we could eventually end up in the same boat as our American cousins before too long!

Thanks to all at RAF Waddington for all your great efforts to put on yet another great show for all people, not just us 'plane nutters; it worked by the looks of the crowd numbers ;)

Me and SWMBO will be back for both days again next year, as we have since 1995

Hope you all have a great time at RIAT and have just as good weather

Forgot to add - biggest mistake IMHO was not parking the Swedes on the intersection, where the Thunderbirds parked 2 years ago and where the Red's Squirrels parked this year.

These are such rare aircraft, and to have them come to the UK and park them over the far side out of view was really a massive waste. Everyone could have seen them, but it wasnt to be.

The commentator's kept mentioning the fact that this was the first display in England of the Tunnan - so why not show it off to the public?

Hey ho, can't change it now. :pop:

Sorry not an option that area is no longer available for jet aircraft, the surface is not maintained.

There was never going to be any USAF/ USAFE with sequestration, also there was one Tornado on static .

I really enjoyed the airshow, the static was a little light but in today's climate that was always going to be the case. There was a few of nice bit there Algerian C-130, Dutch Chinook, Czech Gripen.

Flying display was pretty good, SwAFHF ,Turkish & Dutch F-16 were all very impressive, RAF Chinook was top class as usual, and all hail Kevin Rumens display in the Vulcan on Sunday. Also fantastic seeing the Red Arrows back to a nine ship :thumb:

The only bad points I would mention were lack of toilets and bins, the amount of crap people left on the ground was disgusting. Also I do think the RAF crew miss out on a trick by not selling squadron merchandise (apart from V(AC), 51,54 ) didn't see much else apart from the standard stuff in the RAF section of the showground

Heres my 2 pennorth,

Terrible hold up on A15 took me nearly 3 minutes to get in, after that someone directed us straight to the Douglas Bader enclosure. In all it took us ten minutes to get in set up SWMBO on the chair.

Then to cap it all I had to wait 5 yes 5 minutes for a bacon and egg butty (mind you it was good)

Then the display, well what can I say about that, it was all b...y planes, its OK if you like that sort of thing I suppose.

To sum up we had a great time, great company, great display, and it took us at least 8 minutes to get off the ground.

Luxury !!!, we got up in the morning at ten o'clock at night half an hour before we went to bed, drank a cup of sulphuric acid, worked twenty-nine hours a day down mill, queued for 4 minutes on the A15 after paying mill owner for permission to come to the air show, and when we eventually got home after waiting to exit the car park for 33 seconds, our Dad and our mother killed us and danced about on our graves singing Hallelujah.

And you try and tell the young people of FC that ..... they won't believe you.

HI chaps

Here is my view on the weekend.

I spent 3 days at waddo, and had a good time, met my mates, had a laugh, had sun shine, and aircraft.

The way I see is that the RAF dont seem to support there own any more, take away the home team and what were you left with in the static 3 typhoons, 1 tornado, 1 VC-10 and a hawk, compare that to Wittmund the week before the RAF sent 2 tornados and a hawk which is almost as much stuff, and I think they need to sort this out, the show as will all shows this year was hurt by no US stuff, but that cant be helped.

I enjoyed myself and enjoyed the display and had a cracking time.

all the best

There were 2 hawks plus a Merlin, Griffen and a King Air as well.

Looking at the flying display - BBMF, 617sqn Tornado (with another spare), Chinook, Typhoon, Reds, Falcons, Tucano - thats every available RAF display act present so i'd say thats pretty good support to be honest in todays world

Mike and Deerhunter :P

Sorry, not getting your banter old boys

Far too many nasty tinny words there :'(

Prefer good woody words like antelope, concubine, recidivist, mole, prodding, intercourse :Wow:

Back off now to the dark room away from all those sad, negative types who should be eternally grateful for what was put in front of them

Too many moaners about this, I personally feel that £22.00 isn't too bad for a whole days entertainment, you'd probably pay that or more just to watch your local footie team destroy your faith in them for 90 minutes!. We all know that show participants have been on the decline for a number of years now, there are more than a few ways to see what's going to be there before the event, so if you don't like what you see, don't go!.
I can understand that its a cheaper option or even free to sit outside and watch the flying but I for one like to have a good look around the static and support the airshow organisers with my entrance fee.
Must see if I can go and watch my next motorcycle race or football match from outside the gates and pay nothing, isn't going to happen is it!!!.

As the title says, just voicing my view! .... Ian ;)

To sum up, I enjoyed it, had a great time, met friends old and new, stayed overnight in Waddingtn, watched departures, went on to Mildernhall for a visit round base.

To sum up, had a brilliant time, cant wait for next year,

Just my opinion :D
