According to the Waddington faccebook page, one of the themes will be 95th Anniversary of the Royal Air Force. Lets hope the RAF can cobble together enough aircraft to do the theme justice.
Waddington 2013 will be commemorating the 95th Anniversary of the Royal Air Force

Well you were wrong Last years Waddy was the best they have have had in the last 6 or 7 years and the Black Eagles and Swiss Hornet was worth the admission alone - and with out doubt you missed one of the best display teams seen in Europe for quite some time they were superb and might not come back to Europe for another 20 years
and must also add the pilot of the display Lynx threw that machine about more than I have ever seen in my lifetime fantastic pilot skills
and I was really pleased that the Blackpool based Huey made an appearance what a fantastic chopper that is and kept in tip top condition I just wish more people would use it for displays

Hi Peeps :P

Snafu: we have booked for Bomber Harris yet again, as we always do, so give us a shout out and meet us

Speaking personally, we always go to Waddo, whatever might or might not be there, as it is the biggest supplier of funds, airshow wise, to the RAFBF, and that is really important to us ;)

I have not been lucky enough to have served in the RAF, but to me they are ALL heroes :(

Very best regards

Paddyboy

Hi Folks
Happy New Year!
Went to Waddington 2012 and LOVED it. We had general admission tickets but this year we're thinking of Bomber Harris tickets. Is it worth it? Is the parking good? Is there a good view? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Kind Regards. Tina x

Have a look here for what you get

http://www.waddingtonairshow.co.uk/bomber-harris-chalet

I was looking for the map but can't one - to the best of my knowledge the BH enclosure is fairly central on the flightline

The 2013 airshow themes have been announced

2013 Air Show Themes

95th Anniversary of the Royal Air Force

The Royal Air Force formed on 1st April 1918, the 95th anniversary will be celebrated at the RAF Waddington International Air Show over the weekend 6-7 July 2013. The Air Show will be the only major event of the celebration and we will be going all out to showcase the RAF over the ages. From aircraft displays to ground exhibitions, Waddington will be the place to be to see your Air Force history.

70th Anniversary of the Dambusters Raid

2013 will see the 70th anniversary of the Dambusters Raid on 16 May 1943 and this will be commemorated at the Air Show. The BBMF’s Lancaster, PA474, has already been given a new nose art and identity to mark the 70th anniversary of the founding of 617 Squadron. It is now to be called DV385, Thumper Mark III, to match the identity of one of the Lancasters posted to the squadron in November 1943, to replace those lost on both the Dams Raid and the disastrous September attack on the Dortmund Ems Canal. Along with the flying display of the Lancaster we will also be mounting ground displays enhancing the commemoration.

Combat ISTAR

On the modern battlefield, information, particularly accurate and timely information, is vital to any force commander. To supply this resource, the RAF operates a variety of aircraft equipped with world-leading reconnaissance systems.

Only my point of view but would'nt it be better to put PA474 in the markings of Gibsons Lancaster (ED932 AJ-G) seeing as it was the lead aircraft of the raid. It's a shame it's not really possible to do it but would'nt it be cool if they could get JUST JANE over from East Kirkby for the weekend.

You will not be disappointed :thumb:

Trust Paddyboy: the grub is top notch, the parking is soooooo easy, the routing is good both on and off, and, best of all, the view is the canines

If/when you book, keep a lookout for me and SWMBO: I always have an XH tee or sweatshirt on in my favourite colour: black
