RIAT 2024 Monday (departures day)

Did anyone ascertain the serial of the F16 & Hawk that were hangared across from the East side Park & View behind the Luftwaffe A400 please?
I think they pulled the 4 x Jordanian Falcon Extra 300's out of this hangar later in the day.

Cheers

Hawk I don’t know but the first F16 was the Dutch J616 which will be transported back to Volkel for gateguard duties. Later on the Danish E006 and ET197 were added.

Could well be a Red Arrows Hawk as one was towed over north side on the Friday and didn't leave on Monday with the rest

Thanks for the replies.
I'm certain it was a Red Arrows Hawk.
Judging by the colour scheme, I would say J-616 fits the bill nicely.

I recall the Dutch Starfighter preservation guys saying that the F-16 at Volkel had been replaced, And another airframe was going on gate guardian duties. And the older of the 2 was the one for RIAT special duties?

No. J616 was the first of the fy80 batch delivered to 311sq (after J252 for instruction and J258 which both crashed). By some J616 is seen as the first Volkel F16 and certainly is the oldest in existence. The former gateguard was J240 which is more or less a Leeuwarden frame and will be scrapped in due course.

This is what I logged landing -

CC-3 086 finnish casa 295m (08.26)
T-751 swiss challenger (10.02)
No 199 64-HG french CN-235 (10.19)
CN-AOG OG moroccan C-130 (10.22)
0452 czech Air Force casa 295m (12.00)
847 Swedish C-130 (12.16)
21-0118 turkish A-400 (13.14)
486 saudi C-130 (13.48)
747 greek C-130 (13.53)

I was going to do a full log with callsigns as well but as it started raining I put my book away and just photographed everything I saw. I've written it out now and it's 5 pages long and would take me an age to type it out. :Wow:

I wonder if anyone logged all the callsigns? I'd love to see that list and match them up to all the serials I have!! :S
