Royal International Air Tattoo 2022 - General Discussion Thread
Re: Royal International Air Tattoo 2022 - General Discussion Thread
If New Zealand do send anything it could possibly be their C-130 that is currently operating in Europe, The initial press release put the mission at around 2 months so would end around early July.

US Navy, bound to send a P8. Saying that I'd be surprised not to see a RAF P8 on static

I’m holding out hope of an flying Tornado and the only nation that’s likely from is now Italy given Germany has confirmed there’s are static. Was hoping to see the German ones in the 2019 nato flypast but unfortunately went tech on the Saturday.

Croatian Rafales… is it 2025 this year?witje wrote: ↑Sat May 21, 2022 12:45 pmRed-Eye-Knight wrote: ↑Sat May 21, 2022 12:11 pmSo from looking at the countries still in discussions this is what I think could possibly still arrive either for static or flying.
Canada, C-130, C-17, Chinook, CP-40 Aurora
Croatia, Wings of Storm Krila Oluje, Rafale, Mig-21 but doubt the Mig would come.
Egypt, No idea whatsoever C-130,C295
French Navy, Rafale, ATL2, E-2 Hawkeye
India, Again no idea whatsoever Tejas,C-130
Italy, Tornado, Typhoon, C-27J Spartan
New Zealand, Boeing 757
Qatar, C-130, C-17
Thailand, No idea yet again
Netherlands, C-130, F-16, Apache
Turkey, Soloturk, Turkish Stars, F-4 Phantom
US Navy, E-6 Mercury, F-18 Super Hornet
USAF, F-15, F-16, CV-22 Osprey, KC-10, KC-135
Zambia, Not got a clue C-27J
There are still the self confirmed ones to add to the list like the Chinook and Black Eagles.
If even some of the aircraft i listed arrive that would be a pretty good looking airshow, Anyone got any other ideas?

Re: Royal International Air Tattoo 2022 - General Discussion Thread
No worries. But for Croatia a Mi-8 or Mi-171 is in theory also possible. They visited Cognac airshow near Bordeaux today with an MI-8. And the Mi-171 visited RIAT in the pas. But that’s all speculation

Some excellent suggestions there Witje, I forgot to add the B-1, B-52 and C-17 from the USAF and from the RAF, Voyager, Typhoon, Hercules, A-400 Atlas, F-35, Texan, C-17, P-8 Poseidon and Puma.witje wrote: ↑Sat May 21, 2022 12:45 pmRed-Eye-Knight wrote: ↑Sat May 21, 2022 12:11 pmSo from looking at the countries still in discussions this is what I think could possibly still arrive either for static or flying.

I also hope the A-400 is on flying display from Airbus as that's always a great display.

Re: Royal International Air Tattoo 2022 - General Discussion Thread
Black Eagles confirmed.
In a very special aircraft participation announcement, the Royal International Air Tattoo is pleased and honoured to confirm the undoubted stars of the flying display RIAT 2022: The Republic of Korea Air Force’s national display team, the Black Eagles.
Flying the KAI T-50B Golden Eagle, the Black Eagles are considered one of the best display teams in the world and previously appeared a decade ago at RIAT 2012 where they won the best overall flying display and were voted the best display by the Friends of RIAT. RIAT will be part of a 2022 European tour and the only UK venue at which they will perform their full display. Their visit to RAF Fairford has taken many months of planning and without the assistance of the Royal Air Force would not have been possible.

Absolutely outstanding this years show is going to awesome, arrivals is going to be awesome.
Re: Royal International Air Tattoo 2022 - General Discussion Thread
a couple of things from the RIAT announcement
1 This time, they're returning with eight of the even more advanced KAI T-50B jets, I thought the 2012 jets were T50B`s ?
2 In fact, RIAT will be the only UK event where visitors can experience the Black Eagles' full exhilarating display. I am guessing Southport and Farnbourgh will only get limited displays then , maybe even only flypasts
no mention of if C130 Support a/c will be on display

Indeed they were T-50B's in 2012. And of the aircraft currently allocated to the Black Eagles, courtesy Scramble database, only 3 did not come over before.

I'm surprised that Pakistan has not been in discussions as of yet as they normally attend with their awesome scheme C-130 Hercules, Still plenty of time for it to happen.
I don't think there will be an Apache display this year as don't they normally have their schedule out by now for the season?
