We decided not to go this year, and wait til next year,"even" years seem better as Farnborough on as well so USAF usually bring more. Hopefully Ospreys will also be on display too.
Doing the American Air Day at Duxford in Aug instead, so should see(as in previous years) HH60,MC130,KC135, F15's,B17,P51 & F86 flying + maybe A10's if rumour about TDY to Lakenheath is correct and dates coincide.

Couple of queries....
Anyone know if you can still walk the perimeter / hang around at the end of the runway on show days ?
My trip is dependent on the IL76 of Ukraine so don't want to shell out nearly £40.00 on a advance ticket in case its one I've clocked before or it gets cancelled nearer the time.
If the above is "no prob's" the 2nd part of the query is I presume they don't check if you have a RIAT ticket on the shuttle buses from Swindon and are happy so long as you pay the £5.00 fare ?

I spend at least one of the show days on the outside along with loads of other people watching the approaches.

Standing along the perimeter on any of the arrival or show days is not a problem, as long as you arent directly under the approach. Havent used the shuttle bus for a few years, so not sure how that operates these days.

I can understand everyone's frustration at the Eagles and HH-60 cancelling - but trying to look on the bright side a bit, these are aircraft that are (relatively!) easily viewable in the UK for most of the year.

Of course for any visitors from overseas, the loss of Lakenheath Eagles may be somewhat more frustrating!

The Turkish KC-135 is classed as support rather than static. Lets hope it is parked in static park though

Well some good news on the weather front if we can trust them is that!

During RIAT week pressure looks set to rise with a high possibility of setting up another heatwave between monday 11th July- Sunday 24th, if not, the southern half of England should often enjoy Sunny and warm tempratures.

Well atleast we can be optamistic that we could enjoy Sunny weather this year :thumb:
