Does anyone know what the theme or themes are likely to be at RIAT 2020?

I'd make a guess that the 80th anniversary of the Battle of Britain features in some way.

I think it would be nice for either a tiger meet or a trainer aircraft them. What do you guys think?

Been a while, last done in 2011 & 2010 respectively.

Hope the battle of Britain wil feature a lot of spitifres, hurricanes and Bf 109s

What about 'unusual air arms', being those less frequently seen in the UK.

50th Anniversary of;

First Flight of the Westland Puma.
First Production C5 Galaxy enters operational service
First Flight of Aeritalia G222

All of these could be represented and commemorated in some way next year.

Not entirely sure where they'll get a G.222 from.

Merely suggesting themes, The C27 Spartan may want to adopt an appropriate paint scheme as did the Belgian F16's with D-Day Squadron tails this year.

It seemed ironic/funny at the time after a couple of cold beers.

Just watched a program about Concorde that included some film of the Reds flying in formation with it.

One Concorde passenger said it was great to have the chance to fly at twice the speed of sound as that is the realm of fighter pilots and I thought hmmm not many fighter pilots ever get above 1000mph let alone nearly 1300mph on a routine basis.

Perhaps RIAT can have a Mach 2 section.

Whatever the theme and whatever aircraft turn up there will be moaning and groaning So why not call it "The Whingers Weekend"

4 Iranian Tomcats!.Would be a good start ,painted up in USN markings .
