RIAT 2020???

Post by jonnewell » Mon Jul 22, 2019 9:08 pm

So very disappointed with the variety of aircraft this year that I have decided that this year will probably be the last that I will attend.
Not just the aircraft or lack of display teams, but also the complete lack of anything to buy for the planespotting enthusiasts.
No optical equipment, no radio equipment in fact nothing!!
And before all you flame me, ask yourself "was that really worth the price of all your hard owned wages?"....

Good for you. Not entirely sure why we're supposed to be caring? :S

What???
Where you at same show as me???
What other show had to name a couple, Romanian Mig 21s, Spanish AV-8s, Ukrainian SU-27s, Turkish F4s to name a couple of my main favourites.
Best RIAT for a good few years, times are changing and this year given lack of money and various other problems this year was stunning.
Yes your darn right it was worth every penny of my hard earned cash.

Reds
Pat de France
Frecce
Breitlings

Blades
I make that 6 all together

And yes it was worth every penny

Hi Jonnewell.
You're entitled to your opinion on the show. Not everybody will agree with you. I thought it was a good show, not the best i've seen, but, nevertheless a good show. However I don't know where you were looking. There were several places selling model kits and display models, there was a camera dealer there selling new and second hand lenses, tri pods, bags etc. There was another one selling lenses for mobile phones. There was a scanner shop selling scanners and aerials for scanners. Aviation Retail Direct were there selling models and books. So, a bit baffled by your comments mate. :S

John 'flightpath'.
Equipment
Canon EOS 750D

Sigma APO OS DG 150-500mm
Canon 55-250 IS STM Lens
Sigma APO DG 70-300 lens

There is no need for everyone to open up a different thread to discuss their feelings about RIAT 2019. It should all be posted on the 2019 Discussion thread.
