As much as we would all love that, it won’t be happening when they retire the end of next month
But, you didn’t state it had to be RAF...

They could always road it in, if it were to happen.

Cheers, I thought so
Re: Camouflage Tornado at RIAT 2019
Does BAE at Warton have any use for ex RAF Tornado GR4 ?
I assume BAE are still maintaining / upgrading the Saudi Tornado IDS and would expect that will continue until their retirement date.
It is accepted that the RAF Tornado have reached the end of their service life but from the remaining Marham aircraft could one or two airframes be of used by BAE for test flying ?
There is a presidence for this when BAE operated Lightnings after RAF retirement.
If this came to pass then a static appearance at RIAT might be possible ?

Re: Camouflage Tornado at RIAT 2019
I think the Saudi deal is pretty much done and the aircraft used for trials have been 2 Saudi ones based at Warton. As far as I remember, the Saudi ones are due for retirement in 2020 unless I missed a further extention announcement

Re: Camouflage Tornado at RIAT 2019
No need to 'road' the camouflage Tornado to RIAT 2019. Fly it into Fairford next month, stick it in the corner of one of those empty hangars & trot it across for the static every year until RIAT ceases to be at Fairford (or at all?)...OR it get's in the way of other more important stuff?
Those Regimental boyz at Honington won't give a damn it their Tornado is grey, or most likely if it arrives there anytime at all! I can't see that a Gate-guard airfame is anything other than a deferred 'death sentence' in any event, given our corrosive climate!
PS:- About time Martin Baker upgraded their fleet for low-hours test flying??

Really Supra?
They (Force Protection) already have one, which at a guess is looked after.
Force Protection is a collective term for the RAF Police and RAF Regiment presumably

Re: Camouflage Tornado at RIAT 2019
Saudis are keeping them till at least 2025. Aside from that they are probably not to GR.4 fit
Re: Camouflage Tornado at RIAT 2019
Camo Tornado is retired and will be moving to RAF Honington. The last 5 Flying Tornados should be moving to ETPS’s base at Boscombe Down after the retirement from the RAF
Re: Camouflage Tornado at RIAT 2019

It would be nice to look at it. Even better if it made a flyby.

The question is in relation to the post stating a number are to be flown to Boscombe Down, to which the poster has so far refused to answer.
