Re: Royal International Air Tattoo 2019 Discussion Thread
We all have our likes and wants and that’s fine
I just wonder about the value for money on Friday v Saturday v Sunday
Seems to me that some days offer more for you hard earned than others and that a bit more balance is required to even things out
Having said that I have no doubt it will be the best show in the UK this year

It is only a flypast, wont take much time out of the day, so if you don't like, then do as others have said - do something else for those 5 mins.
I can't get on Sat or Sun - family commitments - so it will be Friday and Monday for me.
BTW - if it were AF1, would it make a difference???
.. and wouldn't it be great if Airbus turned up with a Beluga.....
For me the answer to your 1st question about AF1 would be a no and the 2nd about Airbus would also be a no from me too but that's just my opinion others may like it.....just waiting on this being picked apart and people saying I am moaning......

Well said; perhaps a separate section should be set up for whingeing then this thread will solely concentrate on what is happening aircraft wise at RIAT. And I am saying that as someone who will be unable to attend due to cancer.

One of the best things I have seen at Airshows in recent years is this, which is Civilian

Quick question for those that have been attending RIAT/IAT over the years. Have Israel ever attended with a fast jet?
Re: Royal International Air Tattoo 2019 Discussion Thread
I may be in the minority, but I don't mind if the aircraft are military or civilian as long as it makes a great flying display. The more different types colour and size the better. I can only get to RIAT for one day and always have a great day and now looking forward to this year. With less airshows happening each year, let's just be thankful that RIAT keeps on going and provides a full days entertainment.

Today's update
13 June 2019
Today we're adding three new nations to the confirmed list of participants; Ireland, Pakistan and Poland. The Irish Air Corps will be sending a C235, the Pakistanis a C-130 and the Polish Navy will provide an An-28 Bryza; all for our static display.
Posh are going to Wembley (albeit for a tin cup)
Re: Royal International Air Tattoo 2019 Discussion Thread
IAT/RIAT has only had Hercs and a Westwind on static from the Israelis. The only time an Israeli fast jet has displayed in the UK was Waddington in 2001.
Re: Royal International Air Tattoo 2019 Discussion Thread
So which Pakistani Herc will be here this time? Will it be a Herc, with a picture of a Herc on it, with another on that picture?
Re: Royal International Air Tattoo 2019 Discussion Thread
Another great update, but someone needs to tell DBH that they've forgotten to add the Pakistani C-130 to the confirmed list :- https://www.airtattoo.com/airshow/aircr ... d-aircraftGary wrote: ↑Thu Jun 13, 2019 10:57 amToday's update

Agree totally, if we all liked the same things, wouldn't the world be a boring place?Alfie wrote: ↑Thu Jun 13, 2019 10:30 amI may be in the minority, but I don't mind if the aircraft are military or civilian as long as it makes a great flying display. Also, I thought RIAT stood for Royal International Air Tatoo, the word "Military" is conspicuous by its absence

Good update today. More heavies for the static line.
Noticed that Bournemouth have updated their site today with confirmation of Swedish Draken confirmed flying. Are the rules different if it's flying over water.
Wonder if it will be at any other UK shows being that Bournemouth is in August.

Yes i am afraid the rules are different for it flying over water hence why it's flying at Bournemouth.....Real shame they cannot fly over land in the UK but the CAA rules are different compared to rest of Europe.....Would have been great to see at RIAT even if only on static as would fit in well with NATO 70th Birthday.
