For me, along with the Harriers, the 747 + Red Arrows flypast was one of the best bits this year!

It made a nice change!

Thread has been tidied (yet again) and the original thread has been copied into the Staff Section for it to be looked at.

I agree the Harriers were excellent. I also agree about the 747 and reds. The formation was very nicely done and he BOAC markings looked great.
The Mig and SU27 were also a delight. The reds plus pdf in concord tribute was nice too.
I've been thinking we were very fortunate with the weather too. I know Friday was bad and I do feel for those that only went on that day,but the other days were good. The current weather would have been far too hot. Fairford is a tiring day but in this heat would have been hard.
We were very fortunate.
Thanks to all those that organised and volunteer ed. Staff were very helpful.

For those of us who have suffered significant cancellations today, and the Friday last year, perhaps there should be a compensatory discount next year!
  I've seen it all now! Kind of hoping this was tongue in cheek
Well just to prove you wrong, I have today received an email from RIAT promising a compensatory discount for Friday next year. Perhaps I wasn’t the only one to suggest this in the survey feedback!

I honestly don't know how you or anyone else has the cheek to even ask for compensation, one, from a charity, and two, over events totally out of that charity's control. I hope you feel proud!
Cheers

I got the same email and I did not ask for anything back, It says £5 off next years Friday so must be going to all Friday people who attended.

I got the same email. Didn't ask for it in the survey, but I did suggest a lower price for Friday as it is not a full show day.

We should remember that RIAT is NOT a profit enterprise, but a charity - they have no control over the weather.

I wouldn't have even expected a five pound refund. Something that you take a risk against if booking eight months in advance. Would you expect a refund if you got wet one day at Glastonbury. I'll claim expenses for my waterlogged boots shall I.

RIAT/DBH if you're reading this hopefully you will be collecting for rafbf again next year & I'll put that fiver back in your charity!

Think I’m going to have RIAT blues for the next 360 days until RIAT 2020!

A great idea Zac, mind you, to get the best results, the displays would have to be spread thinly over the weekend.

I know I'm late to comment on this - was there any U2's on the field over the weekend?
Yes, a U2 was on static. 68329 going by my photos.

329 was on static this year. Don’t think there was one present in 2019. Looking back at the Fairford spotters blog suggests that the current detachment didn’t commence until later in 2019.

Pretty sure it had started before then. I remember thinking there's no excuse not to have one on static. Plus I'm sure I remember seeing/photographing it after nearly all the crew had left Sunday night.
