I think it’s a great addition, I will be up there for all 7 days. Still hoping for some French mirages as I can’t see anything confirmed from France & a Hellenic or Turkish F-4 would surely please everyone!
Really really hoping for a phantom to be added

Personally I think it’s good there is a big variety of different displays. Some people (myself included) are only there for the one day, at leat with a variety of displays there are bound to be some things I can see elsewhere at other air shows (RAF Typhoon for example) or I’m not really interested in as much and it gives me an opportunity to check out the static aircraft and the stalls without missing any of the flying I do want to see.

747 at RIAT lol,,,its getting worse and worse, RIAT is basically turning into farnborough lol "Largest military air show in the world" yet has a british airways 747 doing a fly past! grrrrreat!
Re: Royal International Air Tattoo 2019 Discussion Thread
RIAT hasn't called itself that for a while, it's not part of their brand any more, it's "The World's Greatest Airshow!"

My son will like it though so all is well.
My thoughts are the same Peter not a RIAT item imo.

Oh Lord, here we go again.
Re: Royal International Air Tattoo 2019 Discussion Thread
Concorde visited a number of RIATs and IATs before them, offering pleasure flights over the Bristol channel for those wealthy enough.
Used to be great seeing it.
1 flyby by a 747 isnt going to detract too much from the military theme of the show, plus I bet you still take a photo of it..

Neither are the Breitling Jet Team (who are also CIVILIAN) going by your logic, yet nobody batted their eyelids at their announcement.Red-Eye-Knight wrote: ↑Wed Jun 12, 2019 12:04 pmPeteHemsley wrote: ↑Mon Jun 10, 2019 5:09 pmWell, I'm not going to say I'm over the moon with this update. If you think you are getting attacked, instead of both sharing opinions, then you're being over-reactive.
And maybe, just maybe, it's the way that you word your comments, as opposed to the way Pete writes his, simple, straight to the point, and not outright moaning, like your initial one was...

Ok, lets not have this happening again
If you don't like the 747, there are plenty of other things to do for a few mins while it displaying. Vintage village, tech zone etc
Next time it happen, I'll temporarily ban people until the Tuesday after RIAT, you have been warned

Very true. My little dude is well happy watching "Jumbo's" flying over every day so he will be more than happy to see his favourite Civi with his favourite Mili and I'll still probably take photos of the flypastGary wrote: ↑Wed Jun 12, 2019 1:28 pmOk, lets not have this happening again

Seeing as F'Boro has gone down the pan, this is a great addition.
It is only a flypast, wont take much time out of the day, so if you don't like, then do as others have said - do something else for those 5 mins.
I can't get on Sat or Sun - family commitments - so it will be Friday and Monday for me.
BTW - if it were AF1, would it make a difference???
.. and wouldn't it be great if Airbus turned up with a Beluga.....
