B52 display was either 2005 or 2006. There was a B1 at the same time. However you don't expect to see those a/c in the air at the show on a regular basis. Was happy to see the KC10, KC135 , C130, F15 on staitic and 3 F15's in the flypast + others.

Already planning for next year.

There have been a few B-52 displays over the years: certainly the 2000's and also 1989 (B-52G?) plus some before. Mildenhall used to oblige too. Ditto B-1. And I miss them too, even if the BUFF display was usually a bit 'straight and (low) level'!

The last time the B52 displayed was 2010. It was the year that had the special flypast for he Battle of Britain 70th.

Did Park & View (East) on the Weds and Mon this year, they seemed to have got the queues better organised this year and getting in both days went pretty smoothly (with early starts). Both days had some great movements with the Weds programmed through to 18.30 and Mon through to around 16.30. The only disappointment was being told by the staff the B52 Skull 20 was not departing, so many people left (I could hear it's engines running!) and then ushered out of the enclosure before it departed just before 17.00, we ended up watching it depart from the 27 road...but with an extra few mins in the enclosure could have seen it with an unrestricted view

As far as I'm aware, still present at Fairford:

Tornado IDS "46+49", German Air Force
Chinook HC.6A "ZD983", Royal Air Force
E-3A Sentry "LX-N90451", NATO AEWC Wing
F-16C Fighting Falcon "96-0080", United States Air Force

NOTAM for today, most likely either the Sentry or Chinook departing.

Do you know whether this is being repaired at Fairford or will it go back to Spang’ in a cargo aircraft?

Believe a team are being sent to Fairford to access the damage, imagine a decision will be made off the back of them.

one of the B2 hangar doors was partially open yesterday and there was an F16 inside, I assume that was the bent SP machine but confirmation would be welcome

Spent Monday in a very chilled out P&V west and had a great day catching up with the usual suspects we only see once a year. RIAT staff in the enclosure told us that the Buff was definitely leaving but no idea what time and they also said that closing time was a definite 16.30. However when the 52 started their engines just before that deadline, everyone that was left waiting were allowed to remain and watch the departure. I thanked all the guys for doing that on my way out but I would like to say again here thanks very much to all the staff on P&V West for allowing us to hang on past the deadline extending what must have been a very long day for them

Think I’m going to have RIAT blues for the next 360 days until RIAT 2020!

I hope that doesn't mean we get the "What aircraft do you want to see at RIAT 2020" or the "Wishlist" threads starting tomorrow
A mass flypast of 747s painted in the black, white, yellow and red of the Marmite display team colours

Zac
Prefer that to the Red Arrows to be honest.

This has been my 27th (R)IAT and all considering I think it was at normal standard. Not execptional but with some interesting aircraft. As I was there on Sunday and Monday I lacked the F35B, Nato flypast, B747, RA/PdF. That should have been balanced better. Also the USAFE missed the opportunity to show the D-Day aircraft (3 F15, Osprey and MC130J). I think that was my biggest disappointment of the year. Lets see what they make of 2020...

Heritage F-15 wise, the 492nd is at Nellis, the 493rd weren't in attendance and the 494th is broken.

How you can be disappointed with that when you weren't ever promised it? And as RIAT/DBH aways say, it depends on serviceability, crew hours, aircraft availability and so on. MRTT covers above re: 48th FW, but as for 352nd SOG, they may also have had issues with their aircraft. Definitely one of the better RIAT's in recent years I have been to.
