What about the Americans? They sent one last year.
RIAT seemed to be confirming all the boring propeller type trainers which are good to see 1 or 2 but it seems to have dominated the flying displays.

When I checked...

No Solo f16 Turk, no F16 Zeus, No f35, No Czech Gripen, no Rafael demo...... RIAT will have to do something. The public isn't interested in seeing the Blades where you see for free at Bournemouth air show 😂.

Tickets are £55 plus for his event so there has to be reasonable amount of things to see
As already said:

There's still 14, pushing onto 15 possible updates to come (if you go by the weekly Thursday ones)

As a spotter I like the more common or day to day type of aircraft that you normally only see ' over the fence' for example Chinooks and Apache etc. I realize the RIAT organisation are operating in a difficult environment with the military having less variety or maybe less budget for airshow tasks but I personally would prefer more 'normal' aircraft at the expense of head line acts - I am sure we would love another BackFire but give me four or five US Army Blackhawks anytime or some French Army choppers etc to really get the numbers up.

Back in the day - only as far as the '90s, I thought of RIAT as less of a show and more of a FESTIVAL of military aviation so you would get multiple standard types from most of the NATO countries i.e 6 German tornados and 6 French assorted fast jets plus Italians, usually a couple from each Squadron etc. How did it work ? Were they invited or did they want to attend and virtually penciled in the RIAT date themselves , turn up , park the aircraft in static and head off to London for the weekend!
( Oh yes and the RAF would lob in about 10 Tornados , and X amount of jags and harriers to make the numbers up)

Anyway back to 2019 - I am not complaining as I always seem make about 30ish at each show but nowadays it's seems to be one of each type so please RIAT don't be shy about inviting common or garden military types - they are all appreciated by someone.

PS nothing wrong with the Blades - they are ex military pilots so why not demonstrate their precision flying skills at a military show.

Nice update today although I thought we might get the rest of the Lithuanian aircraft seeing as they are at Yeovilton the week before RIAT.

I know it's still 14 weeks away but so far this is who has said is not coming to RIAT

Solo turk
Team zeus
All US demos (a-10 demo still possible)
Rafale ( French navy could still attend)
Flying bulls
A-109
Patrulla aspa
Patrulla aguila
Swiss super puma
Patrouille Suisse
Pc-7 team
Czech Air force
Hungary Air force
CF-18
Black cats
Mirage 2000

There is still a long way to go but that is quite a list of acts not to attend, hopefully in next few weeks we get some big announcements!!

I think there will be a few nice surprises (I always have a lot of hope and will enjoy it nonetheless!) IMO, my money has been paid back by the Harriers  :ninja:

Time for RIAT team to consider returning to bi-annual event. That may produce better results as I suspect some air attaches get fed up with being asked year after year.

What show in Europe occurs every year, after all.

Why would they want to do that?! Its almost a sell-out every year and is very profitable....

I for one would be very disappointed if they did that. For me, IMO, RIAT is the biggest standout for me in the airshow year, and the best show the UK has to offer. Sure, Europe may have better airshows in places, but they aren't always easiest for people to get to.

It looks like the Turkish air force will not be attending RIAT this year unless they are going to add European dates later on. From other available displays we still have the polish demos : mig-29, su-22, f-16, mi-24 , Ukraine air force with : su-27, su-25 and some Europe nations such as France, Italy and Spain who always support the show. I hope that the French navy will send over the rafale duo again this year, the Swedish air force are apparently sending over a gripen demo and Romania are rumored to send over a mig-21. A-10 demo still has a 2 week gap in their schedule just to fit in RIAT and i would expect to see the osprey display again this year.

Turkish Air Force won't be supplying an aircraft to the flying display, no.

Doesn't necessarily mean they won't have a presence on the ground.
