Funny if there was another Sat update coming, that would be the last straw for the Sunday people !
Re: Royal International Air Tattoo 2019 Discussion Thread
Why ridicule the Sunday people? What happened to spotters camaraderie? You don't see the Sunday people wanting a washout on the Saturday!!
You never really got this before social media brought the younger generation into the scene.
A few individuals sometimes failed to see eye to eye, but its really becoming rather off putting.. Plus the lack of aircraft types is depressing these days (not a comment on this years air tattoo, just the UK scene in general..)

Update for Sunday flypast:
The 50-year anniversary of Airbus will be celebrated on Sunday 21 July at the Air Tattoo with a special flypast from their A400M tactical transporter accompanied by the Blades Aerobatic team!
The European aerospace giant, which employs 13,500 people across sites in the UK, begins a year of celebrating five decades of aircraft design and manufacture.
This unique and never-before seen formation of an Airbus A400M and four Extra 300 aircraft (eight spinning propellers in total!) will feature in the full-length flying display on Sunday 21 July; alongside highlights like the Mig-21 LanceR, Su-27 Flanker and the final UK performance this summer from the Red Arrows!
An Air Tattoo spokesperson said, "This is a great opportunity to see the a new and unique formation for tens of thousands of people at the Air Tattoo. Both the Blades and Airbus pilots are used to precision flying and are really looking forward to bringing something new to the show!"

Seconded, on both counts There will be a few disappointed people, and I can't disagree...
They hyped up this "surprise" flypast so much, and they certainly did surprise us with a shocker...Celebrating 50 years of Airbus with a flypast of more non-Airbus aircraft than Airbus?...

As long as any military in the hold *cough* B2/ CV-22 *cough* and lost for the Airbus pass then I'll be ok with it, as a good chance to top up the beer tank.
However I cant deny that it could have been a LOT better, such as....
As an off the cuff idea it could have been a "joint" Airbus 50th/ BA 100th event one of each Airbus type (A19/ 320/ 321/ A380) passing doing a topside pass, then finished off with a A350/ Reds pass. (assuming there is an A350 already delivered/ in the BA paint scheme?) for an official unveiling.

If it wasn't for bad luck, I'd have no luck at all...

Bit like the 747 flypast with the reds more non British Airways aircraft in the flypast than actual British Airways aircraft

To be fair, they never hyped it up, I think we were the ones that over-hyped things and jumped to our own conclusions. They (RIAT) barely even mentioned it until today. It got just about a line at the end of one press release and another 'we are still working on Sunday' on another press release.James Cutting wrote: ↑Fri Jul 12, 2019 3:18 pmSeconded, on both counts There will be a few disappointed people, and I can't disagree...

Today was the first they really even acknowledged it outside of 2 lines of text in the last 3 months.
