Bit disappointed that the Belgian F16 is only flying Friday & Saturday as I am going Sunday. It's a good job I'm going to Yeovilton the previous weekend where it is booked in to display.

Happens every year, some things do Saturday and Sunday only, some do Friday and Saturday only, some do all three. That's the luck of the draw I'm afraid. It's likely there are going to be multiple F-16 displays as usual, so the one doing Sunday probably won't do Friday etc!

I am not 100% but I am sure I read some place that the reason it's only doing Friday and Saturday is due to the Sunday being some national day in Belgium......Someone else on here might know more or put me correct?

Yes, the Belgian National Day is 21st July, so that would add up :thumb:

I'm just hoping they can persuade the various operators to pitch up with 30 C-17s in 2021, to celebrate its 30th anniversary of its first flight - Herc-Phantom-styley!

That would seem highly unlikely given that there are only nine operators of the C-17. And when you consider that only two of those operators are in within Europe and that Kuwait only have two aircraft, you'd probably require the USAF to provide at the very least 20 aircraft and that is about 10% of their own fleet. Not a cat in Hell's chance of seeing 30 Globemasters together at RIAT.

Not only that, but why the hell would you want 30 c17s in static? Mental

That's also a good point. Unlike the famous C-130 gathering, you'd struggle to tell any air arms C-17 from another. No SEA camo, silver, gunship versions, Snoopy or ones on skies.

Not only that if you have 30 C-17's you won't have much room for anything else. :pop:

That' why I found watching SR71s so boring, they were always black. Same goes for U2S. 😉
